Look...I know you don't want to hear this and everyone above me has said this also and they are right...a teacup dog is a very bad idea. Not only that, They have a million health problems about 1/4 of the life span of a normal dog. If you really want a puppy to love and get attatched to..I do not reccomend a Teacup. I use to want a teacup dog..then I did my research and I just got a normal Yorkie that turned out just to be 4 pounds. But he was bred by healthy parents, and a reptuable breeder. So please just do yourself and your puppy a favor by just getting a toy. Chihuahuas are already tiny..they only get to be 3-6 lbs. They rarely get to be 6 lbs anyway. Most of them get to be 4 pounds. Anyway good luck and congrats! and remember,

DO NOT GET A TEACUP! The breeder is just trying to make an extra buck.

Same question same answer sorrry if you dont like it.
Just so you know people advertise teacup dogs so that they can make money.
Any reputable breeder does not advertise teacup puppies.
There are tiny puppies sometimes in a litter.
You also have to know that sometimes these puppies have problems with low blood sugar, are very very fragile(break bones easily), and may have other health problems. They shouldn't be bred because they are too small.

There is no such thing as a teacup chihuahua .Some breeders use these cutesy phrases as "marketing terms" for the different weights that Chihuahuas come in. All of these phrases are made-up. The only classifications that Chihuahuas should be put into is Smooth Coat and Long Coat, i.e. you have a Smooth Coat Chihuahua or you have a Long Coat Chihuahua. But you do NOT have a "Teacup" or a "Miniature" or a "Standard." Yes, certainly, Chihuahuas come in different weights, but they do NOT come in different weight "varieties". Whether they weigh 2 pounds or 6 pounds or 10 pounds, they are called, simply, Chihuahua. Some are simply smaller or larger than others. For the show ring, they must weigh less than 6 pounds, but many individuals weigh up to 8 or 10 or even 12 pounds. These larger dogs are certainly sturdier, so don't dismiss them as good pets.

In fact, I do NOT recommend a Chihuahua under 4 pounds. These individuals are great risks in the health department. Their bones are extremely fragile. There is not enough room in their mouth for healthy teeth. Their internal organs are often weak and can fail suddenly. They tend to have great difficulty regulating their blood sugar and can suddenly fall into hypoglycemic comas.
Responsible Chihuahua breeders never try to produce these tiny high-risk creatures. If a tiny one pops up in one of their litters, they do their best to find the best home that can keep it alive, yes, but they try hard NOT to produce them in the first place because it's not fair to the poor little creature.

Yes, plenty of information. Do not buy one. Tea Cups are just a back yard breeders way of making money. What they do is take the runts of the litter and breed them to runts of another litter. They essentially take the smallest ones, breed them to make even smaller ones. Thay have a slew of health issues. What you will end up with is a sickly dog and a huge amount of vet bills. If you want a pet that small, get a ferret or chinchilla as they are essentially the same size.

I live in Springfield, Mo. I've got a young female short haired white and brown pinto Chi. The current price is extreme high. I wouldn't advise a 'Tea Cup'. Mine is 4 pounds. I read the other answers. They are so right. You're inviting problems, vet bills, etc. When they're that small, the problems are humongous. Not worth the trade off. They are extremely smart, and pick up things taught.

Teacup breeds are actually not a breed at all. They are just small, badly bred pups which often have inherited problems, such as heart defects. Please, I strongly urge you not to even consider buying so a 'breed' that is not recognized by the American Kennel Club. So many dog breeders are just out to make a quick buck, so breed dogs they know nothing about.
