they run from him and just sit up in this window ledge we have in our house and watch him. If he comes near they hiss and run. The puppy is really nice around kitties, the lady we got him from had kitties and they got along fine. He is an 8 week old black lab. My question is do you think they will get along eventually, or will my kitties be afraid of our puppy forever?

i have a 4 year old dog and last week i adopted two, 12 week old kittens.
at first the kittens hid from the dog and never came in the same room as the dog. but then one of my kittens started to be very bold with the dog he would walk right up to him and hiss then run away . then the kittens started coming into the same room as the dog because they knew he wasnt going to hurt him. currently my kittens and dog arent bestfriends but they get along fine. the cats ignore him for the most part but occasionaly will go up to him and pounce on him .
since your animals are all very young they will prob get use to him in no time and will eventually ignore the dog or may even become friends with him.

Being the kittens are as young as they are, eventually they will get used to the dog and will actually start to play with him too. Don't be discouraged, if it were another cat they would more than likely behave the sam since they were there first. Continue to give them the same love and attention you normally did before the puppy, but include the puppy also. It may take a while, but it will in time be a happy home.

Our kitten did the same thing when we brought home two Lab pups. Eventually he got over it and started ignoring the dogs. Now he's a lazy old Tom and the dogs are about 10 times his size and they all sleep together in the winter. I think yours will get along eventually. (Maybe not as comfy as mine but you never know.)

It depends on your cats. I've brought in a couple of rescued cats who got along with my houseful of dogs. Make sure your cats are always able to get away from the puppy if they want to because the last thing you want is for one of them to scratch his eye. They should get used to him in time - they only need to tolerate each other, not be friends.

what i was told to do is to buy a stuff animal dogg that looks like your puppy and let the kittens play with it or just leave it out, if the cats get used to the stuffed dog they might not mind the real puppy.

They will eventually acclimate and get along. A lab is a full of energy and the kitties will have to get used to his energy level!!
