It's the right place. A safe house has different purposes in different contexts, but the basic idea is that it is a place you can go to be safe for some period of time.

There are safe houses for spies to use if they feel threatened.

There are safe houses for children to go to if they feel someone is stalking or trying to grab them, or just to go to after school (not all towns have them set up formally).

There are safe houses for abused women to go to with their children when they finally realize they need to get away from their husband or boy friend.

In war areas, there may be safe houses where there is an underground shelter to keep people reasonably safe from bombs or fighting.

There are a couple of different types of safe houses where I live. There is one for abused women to go with their children to get away from an abusive husband or boyfriend. There are also some safe houses for people with drug problems to go and get help with getting off drugs.

The term 'safe house' refers to any location, where someone is taken for there own protection. The location is normally kept secret. In a law enforcement context, they are normally used for witnesses to or victims of crimes when it is believed their life is in danger.
