my stepsister is the biggest brat and she always gets what she wants from my stepmom .... she gets up in my face and she trys to pick fights with me and pounds her fist on my wall. I've talked to my dad and my stepmom about it and they won't do anything about it , but i'm afraid if i hit her my stepmom will call the police on me.

i mean this in the nicest way possible - sucks to be you - that said, try to get out of the house as much as possible get involved in every activity you can and make as many friends as possible so that you have plenty of things to get your mind off of a situation that you can't control (oh, and if you really wanna hit her - just do something that won't leave a mark and don't draw attention to yourself when it happens... and then 'deny everything'!)

Blended families are tough... it takes a long time to establish a pecking order. The stepmom will not take your side no matter what. Your dad just wants peace, and that means taking your stepmom's side.
She is picking fights with you because you are giving her attention... you are giving her the reactions she craves. For as long as you play her drama-queen games, she will OWN YOU. She wants you to hit her because that will make her an only child once again after you are hauled off by the police. Learn not to play her games. Blow her off and walk away. Tell her to friggin' grow up.
When you feel the urge to give in to what she is selling, just walk away... either go to your room, or go for a walk... just don't let her own you like that.
I don't know how old you are, but you should consider spending as much time away from there as you can. You can participate in more school activities, you can study at a friend's house, you can get a job (or make one) that will take you away from there (and make some $$$). The trick is to get your chores at home done, leave a note as to your whereabouts on your dad's cell phone (or whatever), and keep your studies/grades up so you don't get in trouble.
You only have a few years before you are 18, so make the best of them.

Yes in the USA you cant lay hands on anyone unless you are ready to go to jail and she calls the cops.Its a bunch of crap but its the way the law works.
