Is standing up and demanding that Iraqi citizens join the fight for THEIR country your idea of cutting and running? Over 75% of the middle class and 90% of wealthy Iraqis are living in exile while Americans die fighting to "keep the sunnis and shia's from murdering each other." So, please tell, me what would be "cutting and running from" A civil war.

Isn't it time the Iraqi's fought their own civil war? I think so. We fought ours, and were able to solve our problems. Why shouldn't they be expected to do the same, if they think Iraq is worth fighting for.

Please define "cut and run" if it involves American Soldiers asking Iraqi's to fight their own war.

If Iraq's army and police can't handle things by then, do you think they ever will? How is it called cut and run when we've been there for over 4 years. The point is to train their troops, give them time to set up their government, and leave. If we are there another year, I would think we would have fulfilled our "mission". I am sure there will still be forces there to fight terrorists. I would love for this to become a non-issue before the elections if it is, at that time, the right thing to do.

The Iraq war will not be over -- the civil war in Iraq is going to continue, likely for years to come -- regardless of whether the US in present or not.

I am happy that the US will stop wasting lives and money in a project that has little benefit for the US, but has huge costs in terms of lives, resources and our general security.

And it's not "cutting and running" when we make a strategic decision to do something different -- that's called politics.

It sounds like 30 years after the actuality that leaving Vietnam grew to become into the the superb option decision. evaluate it to places that we fought and did no longer depart like Guantanamo. Germany Japan Korea I comprehend that keeping bases all international huge is stable company. yet once you evaluate Vietnam to Korea i think of leaving labored out extra valuable than staying. a great Joint rigidity Base in Basra could be a good concept. preserve a army presence to guard the oil tankers. and Air means waiting to scramble. alongside with a Predator drone operation Hub. it could enable the army to depart Saudi Arabia Halliburton could desire to get the contract to the two build the Basra base in Southern Iraq. this could make corrupt politicians happy. And Halliburton could desire to decontaminate the Saudi bases after the army left. because of the fact the Saudis think of people as disgusting pigs we would want to scrub the sand as quickly as we left. This defeats AlQuida's best argument that American Infidels are on Holy floor (Saudi Arabia) Defeats the U. S. profession of Iraq argument. enables the government to no longer "decrease-N-Run" whilst on the comparable time it keeps a presence to guard the Oil investments. Win Win concern

Iraq is really about blood for oil and profit for big oil people. Someone has sold out our country and its resources to secure the oil supply, but it will backfire because oil will soon be obsolete. In 1965 we had a new military vehicle that used water for fuel. It just disappeared ... I wonder why? If the people ever know how they have been had they will be really unhappy.

We are? Funny, you'd think that since I'm in the military, I would have found that out through my chain of command before it was ever released to the world. You would think even if in the off chance that you did find out before me, it would have been on FoxNews, or some other media outlet, not Yahoo! Answers.

Thanks for telling me. I'll change my plans for this time next year.
