By everything else, do you mean you've tried seemingly excessive amounts of exercise, practiced daily for a year or more? Also have you tried a pure health food diet, including fish oil?

Buddhism is alright; might help a little. If you're crazy enough to believe in Christianity, go for it. You'll get some side effects, like a sort of dazed look in your eyes.. and you might lose some personality, but it beats reality. Look into Taoism also. Yoga is along a slightly different vein but it comes with a physical conditioning system that may help somewhat.

What if a prejudiced religion happened to be the true religion?

I've always thought it was funny how people don't look for truth. Instead, they look for the one with the most appealing rules.

Well, it can sometimes be a helpful supplement to therapy, but not a substitute. You want to make sure that the religion is not guilt-based, because that makes the problem worse.
Unfortunately, depression can be very difficult to treat, and there are many treatments.
1. Therapy
2. Medication
3. Accupuncture/accupressure
4. Diet
5. Exercise
Not only that, but there are so many variations on each one.
Eventually, you will find something that works. Don't give up hope. It took me a long time to find what worked, and I am still discovering new things.

Clinical depression is a physical, medical problem. Make sure your depression isn't medical, or nothing else will help.

Religions don't promote prejudice, the people who interpret them do.

Buddhism has no deity belief, it's more of a philosophy except for certain Tibetan sects.

Pagans accept everyone. We don't care who you are or what you do. As long as it's ethical. No child abusers or people like that. We do have SOME boundaries.

Hi there,
Depression is very common among us and you are absolutely right Buddhism can and will certainly get you out of whatever depression you may have.

One thing you must understand, cultivation, patience and understanding of Buddhism will erase all depressions, anger, sellfishness and so on and remember it can not be done overnight it takes time and patience,o.k.?

Does that answer your question? Only you yourself can help yourself so you choose the life you want to be,think about it.

I suggest you start reading books concerning Buddhism.Don't worry be it good or bad it won't be permanent, everything is impermanent,it will go away.

I'm not trying to be mean but Depression stems from being selfish actually. People are depressed when things aren't going right in their lives or they want stuff they can't have. If everything was going just like they wanted there would be no reason to be depressed. I used to be depressed until I realized this. Then I started working on how to lighten up and just take life as it is and realize its not going to be like you want all the time.

Faith in yourself would do you more good, wouldn't it? Depending on how depressed you are...I would look into many things besides religion. Stay active, get out and meet new people....there are plenty of things to get you out of your sadness......if you go religious, you must be serious about your faith!!! It need not be just an answer to your depression but fulfillment in your everyday life. Good luck. Search yourself and read books to find answers!

there are just two kinds of forces, positive and negative, and they coexist in cycles. life and death. choose which side you want. doesn't matter which religion or specifics you may choose. they all come up to the same principle of forces of energy. God is life or living cycle. Devil is the death cycle or destructive part.
yes religion is the way. depression is negative cycle.
only if i have the wisdom to identify and control myself to go and maintain to that positive cycle living forever will be a reality, my physical won't degrades.

Religion can't solve anything. Jesus Christ and having a personal relationship with Him can. Religion is mans ways not Gods. What God wants is to have a personal relationship with Him, where we can talk to him share our hurts, our joys, and our thoughts. and put our trust in Him.
