John

He was also privileged, while a prisoner on the Is. Patmos til his last days, where he received the N.t. Book of Revelation from Christ (Rev.ch. 1 vs 1-30 and from time to time was caught up into the 3rd heaven to have a view of the future as the Spirit revealed it to him, other times he was given visions while on earth.

Like all of us, he messed up and slipped into the sin of self-seeking as he sought the chief position in Christ's kingdom. Mark 10:35-45. I love learning how human the disciples were and the Lord forgave them time and again for I know He does so with His believing children.

a careful reading of the gospels and a little understanding of the men and the time frame and you would see that Jesus did not pick the most likely to succeed

peter was always in trouble, thomas was have issues with faith, judas was a thief yet was able to hide his true nature from all but Jesus.

don't think you are going to find any monumental things until the Holy Spirit worked in them after Jesus rose from the dead.

John. He stayed with Jesus until the end. When all others fled as Jesus was arrested, John stayed with Jesus. Jesus trusted John to care for Mary, His mother. John was the only one to die a natural death. Some say that is a sign of God's favor.

Peter The Rock

Even though Jesus plainly told him that he'd deny Him before the cock crowed three times...and Jesus was right...Peter did *exactly* that....he wound up being the most outspoken, most zealous Rock that Jesus had...and Jesus is the one who named Peter that: His Rock.

Peter. He served (constantly) as an example that underlined the principles that Jesus preached. Peter was someone that was easy for people to identify with.

Judas

He was prophecied about before Jesus was born.
Can you give one example of any other disciple who was prophecied about before Christ came to this earth?

If Christ did not die for us, would Peter have had a ministry?
