It's probably J.K. Rowling trying to make him easier to relate to. The glasses might make him more human, flawed, to readers. Plus a lot of my friends who like Harry Potter (I'm not a big fan) are visually impaired.

Yes. I've been just as eager as my kids to read the books when they were released. My son wouldn't have read at all if it wasnt for that series... it has enthralled so many kids and broadened their imaginations... I think it will be popular a hundred years from now.

that kid is an ocular nightmare. he cannot keep them from getting broken or dropped.
