Because he is an elected official with great benefits he should be held to a higher standard of the average person who would have done that 30 days, He should loose everything his house his cars and all money he should really be made to start over from nothing put him on the street. Think about this every case he has ever prosecuted is now going to be reviewed.

Furthermore, if you are ordered to report to jail for 1 day lets say the judge says to start September 2 and end September 3 you have until 11:59pm on the second to show up at the jail at 12:01am on the third you are released.

A person of that character serving in the position he held is what is alarming, and what we should be focused on.

The biggest issue with his crime was that he suppressed DNA evidence and he did so because he knew if he were the defense attorney he would be able to have the case dismissed in a matter of minutes.
When I attempt to give him the benefit of the doubt I can not comprehend how it could have escaped him that perhaps he had the wrong men and not just that there was evidence that could have exonerated the guilty.

The one day he spends in prison is the least of his punishment.

Imagine being in your 40s or 50s and never being able to pursue your chosen profession again -- starting over from scratch needing to find a new career at that stage of life.

He made mistakes. He may even have been careless to the point of reckless. He paid for it by losing his career and everything he's worked for over the past decades.

Do you really think another 30 days in jail (the maximum sentence allowed by law) is going to make any difference, given what else he's lost as a result?
