If your grandma has your SSN then she will be able to apply AND receive credit cards in your name. The credit card company will NOT call you to confirm your application. I suggest you call your local DA's office (district attorney) for competent legal advice.

Put a fraud alert on your credit report at all three credit bureaus. Supposedly if someone applies for credit using your name, the potential creditor calls to verify before issuing the credit.

Not all creditors make the call but the fraud alert should help. Also, check with the credit bureaus to see if you can freeze your credit report. Some states allow this. It would make it impossible to process credit, even for you, without unfreezing.

I don't think they would call you. Call a credit card company, any one, it doesn't matter, and ask them. They will probably tell you to call the three credit agencies, Equifax, etc.and alert them Good luck.
