Air National Guard station question?

Can you sign up in a different state than the one you live in? for example you live in texas but want to be stationed in california, do you hav to go to california and sign up there? how does it work?

with the Guard, youa re stationed at a unit close by. if you want to drill in CA but Live in TX, you will be required to foot the bill to get there every month as well as your 2 weeks training every year.
