Don't let anyone kid you. ALL tattoos hurt. And anything that is tattooed on a bone really hurts like HE double hockey sticks.
If you decide to get one, go to a reputable shop & have it done. Don't let your friends give you, what we call in the trade, " A jailhouse tattoo."

The first tattoo I got was on my ankle. It didn't hurt as much as I expected it to. The pain is similar to that of ant bites but more continuous. I also have a tatoo on my arm which hurt more than the one on my ankle. I have a low tolerance for pain and the ankle tatoo wasn't that bad.

I might love to begin out by way of announcing that (in spite of widespread perception), getting a tattoo on a "bony" facet of your frame does NOT imply it'll harm greater than getting one on a "fatty" facet of your frame. I have tattoos on my ribcage, and sure, they have been VERY painful. I have a few on both part of my scale down again, in which there has a tendency to be extra fatty tissue, and it used to be such an frustrating discomfort while I used to be having the ones performed, it used to be all I would do to hold from leaping correct out of the chair! Now. I have tattoos at the backs of my ankles, and I have tattoos round either one of my nipples. The tattoos at the backs of my ankles aren't on a "bony" facet of my leg, and so they have been very painful. The ones on my breasts infrequently harm in any respect. But, my breasts aren't very touchy... plus I had relatively an viewers, and we have been all giggling quite often besides. But please, some thing you do, do not come to a decision in which you're going to get a tattoo founded on what spot will harm the least. If you discover a tattoo you rather desire, come to a decision WHERE you desire to position it, regardless of how so much anyone else says it'll harm, and do just it. You may not die from the discomfort, and as soon as it is over you'll be able to be blissful you may have it in which you desire it. After all, they don't seem to be washer-friendly. :)

Depends upon you. Take a rubber band, not to small, and place around your ankle if you can snapping it over and over again then you should be cool. But be aware that the closer to bone the more it's going to hurt.

YEs they do. Think about how thin the skin is around your ankle. I have a tatoo on my lower back and that sucker hurt like bloody hell. Would I get another, no way!

I have a tat around my ankle and to be honest it didn't hurt as much as you think, felt a little weird around the achilles tendon, but not bad-actually plan on adding more to my ankle tat.

Yes, a lot from what I hear. But do it anyway, tattoos are cool, and the pain is only temporary
