I paid $250 for mine, he was adopted from some type of Doberman shelter.

He's 3, purebred/CKC registered, a proven stud (but I got him neutered, you'd be surprised at how many dogs that end up there), and he's a trained shutzhund dog. He also came with his ears cropped, dewormed, tail docked, tattoo, microchip, vet checks, all shots and licensed. That was probably the best $250 I've ever spent. All because he was "too much work" for his family.

My dads doberman, however, was $2000. He came vet checked, dewormed and with his tail docked. IMO, my doberman was a much better deal.

Where I live a very well bred Doberman goes for 1,200.00 dollars.

Italian Greyhound I paid 3,200.00 for a Golden because the person knew I wanted to breed. Breeding dam's are very expensive and they are from top of the line pedigrees too. I've seen some for as much as 20 grand! You have no idea how much it is to breed quality dogs.

I have paid as little as $800.00 and as much as $3600.00 for a Doberman puppy. All AKC registered, all good tempered and having performed key health testing at purchase in the following areas:
* Von Willebrands via DNA test
* Blood panels for thyroid by an OFA-certified laboratory

Other recommended testing includes -- but is generally done after the age at which I purchased my Dobes:
* Cardiomyopathy - a Holter monitor EKG or an ultrasound/sonogram done by a veterinary cardiologist
* X-rays for hip and elbow dysplasia, certified by OFA at or after the age of 2 years
* Eye exam done by a veterinary ophthalmologist (CERF exam)

I have a miniature pinscher, purebred and payed around 4,000 for him.I think it's to much for a dog but he looked like he needed a home, plus i loved his personality, but you can get some Doberman's for less. For purebred's i've seen them cost around 2,000-4,000. but for mixbred's they have them for alot less. They're great dogs purebred or not. Loving and will always be there for you :)Hope this helps..Kelly

I just seen them here in KC going for $650 AKC registered but as PP's said the better bred the more they'll cost- you might try the dobi specific rescue group in your area too don't forget, alot of breed specific rescues pic up the dogs as soon as they hit the pound so that's why you don't see them there usually
