Cats are very good at getting your attention! Can you think of a more direct way than pooping in the bed? Kitty is trying to tell your roommate something about how it is feeling. It could be sick or angry over something that has changed around your home. New people around, even new furniture can upset them. If it continues, try to have her get kitty to the vet, and remember, they are just communicating the best way they know how. Make sure the litter pan in clean and fresh.

If he hasn't been neutered yet, do so right away. Assuming he is already neutered, you need to thoroughly clean the bed and bedding and anything else he might have gone to the bathroom on with a pet odor and stain eliminator. We like Nature's Miracle because we know it doesn't mess up painted walls and carpet and there is no odor whatsoever afterward. If you have thick bedding or pillows that he's used, it would probably be better to get rid of them and replace them. It's very hard to get the smell out of the fiberfill that's in those type of products. Also get a product called Feliway Comfort Zone Spray. If you follow the directions the cat shouldn't go again in that same area. You might also consider adding a litter box somewhere close to the room.

Cats don’t just break training with the litter box without a reason. Check through these and make sure that you can say you’ve investigated each one as to a possible cause:

1. litter box is too dirty (full), the cat won’t use it
2. litter box bottom has so much urine embedded in the plastic that it stinks too much for the cat
3. litter box is covered and the cat has been ambushed by another animal in the house
4. litter box is ok but the cat stands too close to the edge and poops/pees outside by accident while in it
5. litter box is in too high a traffic area now, no peace and quiet for the cat to use it in private without interruption
6. other cat/dog bothers the cat while they try to use the box
7. the litter is too smelly – too much perfume in it – makes the cat gag so he won’t use it even though the perfume is to help cover odors for us
8. you changed brands of litter and the cat doesn’t like the new one
9. the cat finds a smelly place in other rooms and figures it’s ok to do his business there—like the laundry basket, piled dirty clothes on the floor, very smelly shoes, etc. He figures if it stinks that bad there, it’s ok to poop there too.
10. bedding in the bedroom hasn’t been washed in a while—cats will use the two smelliest parts of the bed (pillow and quilt cover where it touches your face) for the same reason as #9.
11. cat uses the lower part of the bed because it might smell like poop—from when he or another animal wasn’t completely clean on their bottom and they sat on that part of the bed leaving a poop smell there. One poop smell means that it’s ok to poop there now.
12. something ‘hurt’ when they tried to poop or pee last, and they thought the box made it hurt (constipation, urinary infection, etc.)
13. something dangled off their butt end when they tried to poop so they ran out of the box and the danglie fell off onto the floor (not the same as pooping outside the box, but you know…

Sounds like your cat is angry with your roomate. Has she been secretly been kicking it? Directly in the bed is the highest form of cat peevishness. Have YOU been paying too much time with your roomate and not giving your cat attention? You need to spend a little more quality time with the cat and this should clear up. Or get another roomate if it doesn't ; )

Sounds like it's a behavioral issue. Once you get the ok from the vet that it isn't medical, try to figure out what has changed in the house to make your cat act out.

You also may try changing the litter to plain clay litter. Some cats dont like clumping or scented litter.

Where is the litter box and has it been cleaned lately? Maybe the cat is confused. And I don't think she wants to kill it, I think she's trying to cover it up - that's their natural instinct.

it might not feel comfortable where its litter box is.cats like alot of privacy.try putting it somewhere out of site or getting a big cover for it to make it more like a doghouse so it can enter in and have privacy.maybe it just needs its litter changed more often too.

some times cats don't get along well with some people, just like some people don't get along with other people. also if a pet is not receiving attention they tend to do things like this
