actually there are no positive effects of fasting.
nobody should do it unless your doctor said so (e.g. before surgery)
all fasting does is make you lose water weight and muscle not fat and slow down your metabolism dramatically - you end up with higher body fat percentage because are unable to maintain diet/fasting (nobody can) - you feed the yo-yo cycle.
body needs 50cal/hour just for basic functioning (like when you are in coma) and thats 1200cal/day for a person under 150lbs.
even at night when we sleep body goes into a little starvation mode and saves energy.

You don't want to over do it but I have been doing it since April and I have had many health benefits especially my periods have went from 7 to 5 days in length and the flow is much lighter as is the cramping. I have also lost 10 lbs.My fasting period averages about 20 hours and my feeding window is 4 hours. I have gone a couple of times where I have had just one meal a day. But one thing I would like to add is we all fast. That is where the word breakfast comes from.

What I've heard is that after one day it's bad because your body needs nourishment. Fasting is actually good because the intestines rest so does your hole digestive system
