I would work with the pup at home on come and sit. When the pup has had her shots, I would enroll her in Basic Obedience Classes. It will not only help you bond with her, but it will also get her used to being around other dogs. Socialization is very important with a puppy. Walks, going to a park where she can meet other dogs and people. Very important.

The best time to take a dog to obedience school is at an early age. It is best to do it as young as possible, so the dog can get all of the basic and more compilicated commands into his head.

I start my dogs from when I first get them. Puppy classes from 8 weeks.

I go to more than one class with my dogs. I know how to train mine, but I like the classes for socializing my dogs and it motivates me to train them more often.

I've even taken my old dogs to drop in classes here and there because they love the attention and enjoy seeing everybody.

I train at my local AKC Obedience Club. Their fees are quite reasonable.

Many good obed clubs offer Puppy Kindergarten which is great then reg. obed at 4-6 mos old. I train pups as young as 8 weeks when I get them and have started showing at 4 mos and titling at 6 mos plus 1 day..Any age dog can be trained, older dogs usually train faster as do neutered dogs.
