You may have a natural wave in your hair. Some girls would kill for that.

The way your hair was cut the last time will also affect how it lays. If you do not like the little flip at the ends, a stylist could trim it such that it lays flat and straight. This would hardly take anything off the overall length. Even while growing your hair out you should get it trimmed every 6 to 8 weeks to keep it looking nice.

Finally, if your hair is starting to ride along your shirt collar, that could be the cause. Your collar is pushing the hair out and up, giving it the curl. This will be more likely to happen if your hair is not completely dry before you get dressed.

Now you know what we girls go through. Our hair seems to have a mind of its own somedays.

That's just how your hair is. Mine's the same. The waves start at the root actually but they don't manifest themselves that much until it reaches certain lenght. Try a straightening iron on that part.

Lack of combing your hair. Try to comb your hair specially before going to bed...do it 100 times. I've tried it. It really works. And of course maintain that habit. Remember, "Your hair is your crowning glory"!

I've experienced mine both ways too... but my husband prefers it short... he in no way complains when I grow it long, but is always all over him self w/the complements when I cut it off
