Or you recieve an answer to a question you didn't ask?
How does this make you feel? How often does this happen to you?

I get bewildered sometimes when reading an answer, not because I am illiterate, but because I am just amazed at the illogic. I mean, I see what's in front of me, but it's hard to believe it sometimes.
It's not always a mean spirited answer, just an answer that does not address the question or is just totally illogical, like Miss Teen South Carolina.
Random bible passages, hypnotic rhetoric, circular reasoning, non sequiturs, nonsensical explanations, obvious contradictions, illogic, etc. Or its an answer to a question that you didn't actually ask. You ask a specific question but then you get a sometimes in depth, elaborate and thoughtful answer to a question, just not the question you asked. It's like they are avoiding answering the real question.
It's just frustrating when you ask a good question but it goes to waste.
Why do they answer questions this way?

When you think about it's really simple. They answer based on faith based ideas rather than ones made up of logic or evidence of past happenings.

An atheist looks for answers in places of logic like the sciences. A christian looks for answers in the bible and in faith.

No but the bible says that they must avoid thinking logically at all costs!
Oh how many good questions have i wasted over the years to brains that just can't comprehend reality. It makes me so angry.
It's worse when they ask seemingly coherent questions and then pick apart your logical and correct answer using bible passages and parroted retorts.

Just in case John D. is serious here's an example of two sentences from the same answer (will provide link if necessary):

God makes the choice!

God gives us free will to make a choice right?

Yes... all the time. They inundate you with nonsense because they're so desperate to 'prove' they're right. They regurgitate everything that's in their head but they have to do it quickly before they forget what they were told to say by their church.

It's not unlike a used car salesperson. Yap-yap-yap so you get a headache and say,'yes', I'll take christianity for $200.00, Jack.

I'm an ex-born-again-christian so they don't really upset me with the rhetoric. I used to do the same thing so I know their deep and dark secrets and I know the bible better than some of them. I could tell you folks what they fear most if you'd like.... lol

Quick story:
Shopping on boxing day...at food court...approached by 3 of these christians. Asked if they could talk to me about christ.. was bored, said yes...they kept telling me I wasn't a christian to begin with be cause I said I changed my mind (hehehee) about christ. They quoted bible, I quoted back... I know the lingo they use.... finally, 1 of them looked confused... 2 others appeared and pulled him away from my table where I was happily answering their questions while eating my burger...
Long and short, they had to pull the 3rd guy away cause he was actually listening to the logic I was presenting and started to have his own doubts and questions. The others saw that he might get 'misled' by me and quickly whisked him off for more intensive brain-washing.

I had a HOOT!

"Bible passages, hypnotic rhetoric, circular reasoning, non sequiturs, nonsensical explanations, obvious contradictions, illogic etc" is pretty much all they have.

I suppose their answers make sense to them; simply another sign of the miscommunication between theists and atheists.
