The premise of your question is subject to question. There are so many ways to have sex in a nunnery. Hundreds of years ago, Bocaccio described more than a few methods of putting Satan back into Hell whenever he escapes.
Everybody here below deserves a little fun now and then. Why wait until one reaches the Gates of Heaven? If only we reach out and touch someone, the gates of heaven are at hand.
Are we not all commanded to love our neighbor? Was not John Lennon right to sing, "All you need is Love!"?

They take a vow before God when they become a nun that they will not get married or have sex. In other words remain a virgin until they die. The same for priests. If you have a strong faith in God then you can do without sex and martial wealth. There used to be Vestal Virgins in ancient Rome. They were girls who were chosen at the age of like 6 years old to be a virgin for their rest of their lives and maintain the fire was supposed to appease the chief virgin Goddess Athena. If they had sex then they were often exiled and starved to death for their sin.

I think women can handle deprivation better than men.
Priests end up molesting children to vent the sexual energy they have denied themselves, they call sex less than holy, a sacrifice for God.
Denial of what is natural in a human being twists a beautiful thing into into something evil and hurtful.
Nuns just get bigger rulers.

10 reasons why I'd rather be a nun than have sex.
1.Because sex isn't the most important thing in the world.
2.Because sex has become a cheap commodity in our materialistic society.
3.Because a guy can only appreciate you after he's known you for your personality, not because of a one night stand where those women would just be seen a free n' easy n' cheap.
4.Because dedicating yourself to a spiritual, noble cause is far greater, and deeper than a few minutes of sexual gratification.
5.Because sex is so overrated.
6.Because I admire a nun's convictions and sense of self-control over the earthly flesh, which is temporary. This compared to the spiritual connection one has with their God, it is timeless, eternal (not in the heaven/hell sense) and probably feels better than sex.
7.Because nuns get respect and are respectable.
8.Because nuns do charitable and selfless (or are supposed to) deeds to help their fellow man and woman.
9.Because sex has become so cheap and dirty (you never know which guy has it with all those gross things he's probably done when he was younge. Ew.) you run the risk of getting AIDs, HIV, STDs, or whatever disgusting disease he's carrying around with him.
10.Because there are more fun things than sex!

I think Buddhist Nuns, are perfectly fine accepting that they do not have sex.
I mean when they enter the order, they knew what they were choosing to give up, And yet, still did so, in order to help them achieve enlightenment.

nuns are wonderful people! the fact that they give up everything to dedicate their lives to Jesus and prayer. most nuns spend hours a day praying for you me and everyone in this world. Nuns (nobody should masturbate) are not to masturbate because this of course is a serious sin. When a nun takes her vows it is really her wedding vows to Jesus so if she ever had sex with another man she would be committing adultery (this is another serous sin)
please don't think that sex in a game. the gift of your purity is meant for only one person and that person is your husband/ wife. and think of how much more special that gift is when you share it with the person it's meant for.

nuns are not the only people who can or even prefer to live with out sex,in some culture religions it is considered a waste of energy such as Buddhism.

Of course, I look at sex as a form of worship and connection with the Divine.... so maybe that's just me ;)

not everybody has to have sex. It is not a necessary function and it is very much a grace to be able to live your life without this interference.
