Tyson struggled his entire career with taller fighters. A prime Tyson was KOd by a taller Buster Douglas, need I say more? Lennox Lewis would KO a prime Tyson but in the later rounds.
By the way, his name is Lennox Lewis not Lennox Louis.

Most of you dont know anything about boxing besides what you see on tv and read about on here or in magazines. If you've ever been in the ring you realize several things. One, boxing matches are about styles. Heavyweight matches as well and add in the fact that these guys can hit like a ton of bricks and even the best fighters can go to sleep if they are caught right. Lennox Lewis faced some very heavy handed punchers (Holyfield, Tua, Grant, Klitschko, Ruddock, Weaver, Bruno, Tyson, Mercer, Morrison) and wasnt knocked out. He gets knocked out 2 times in 15 years and you say he has no chin?????? Give me a break!!!! Some guys match up well against other fighters. lewis whipped Tyson in the amateur days when they sparred because he had the size AND the skills and he would have done the same in the pros whether it was 1993 or 2002. Lennox feared NO man. Those of you who think he lost to Klitschko also forget the fact that Vitali was losing momentum fast and his face looked like he had been attacked by a bat in an alley when the fight was stopped and Lewis uppercuts were on their way to an impressive stoppage. Lewis would have beat Mike (and I am a huge fan of prime Tyson (despite his outside the ring behavior). Lewis KO Tyson whenever the fought.

Tyson in his prime, would of KO'd Lewis in Round 2 and that's only if Lennox could keep up with him. Tyson was a relentless animal by nature. I remember when he won the title, I was about 9 years old. It was a pleasure to witness that era during my generation!

I think Lennox Lewis in his prime could beat Mike Tyson in his prime for one reason, his jab.
Make no mistake Mike Tyson in his prime was the most feared man in the ring. None the less, there were only two more effective jabs in boxing history: Muhammad Ali & Sugar Ray Leonard.
The GOAT ( greatest of all time ) could knock you out with his jab falling backwards. Sugar Ray's Jab was like a lightning jackhammer. Lennox's jab was a heavy tree trunk that you had to get around, which I think Tyson wouldn't be able to do.
Lennox in a split decsion, Tyson would persue and land enough bombs to make it interesting, but Lennox's ring discipline and jab would be the difference.

Simple: Tyson would have won because he would have given Lewis much more head movement, side to side. Eventually Tyson would have found his target and flattened Lewis (either by KO or TKO). The Mike Tyson that fought Lennox recently and lost was simply NOT the same "Iron" Mike that destroyed all opposition in the 80s.

the first round of Lewis/Tyson told me all I needed to know. A shell of what he used to be, Tyson still had Lewis so terrified that Lewis almost couldn't function. Tyson buckled Lewis' knees with a jab, for crying out loud. Lewis finally calmed down when he figured out that Tyson had nothing left whatsoever. What if Tyson had been at his peak and Lewis really DID have a reason to fear, not only the first round but every one after that as well? Tyson was difficult to hit, was much quicker than Lewis, hit harder, had a better chin...all Lewis had was height and reach, which did give Tyson problems, in that it usually took him longer to finish those guys or it went to decision.
Lewis terrified, forgets how to box, Tyson by TKO inside 6 rounds.

Tyson almost definitely, Lewis even admitted he was intimidated by Tyson as he watched him rip through the heavyweight division early on.
Tyson was very disciplined until he got rid of Rooney, everyone seems to forget that. And a "prime" Tyson would be disciplined, along with his amazing physical abilities. I don't know that we ever got to see "prime" Tyson. Lewis has a suspect chin, and few if any could have ever dealt with the speed and power of Tyson. Lewis turned out to have a fantastic career, and I respect him for that, but I don't know that he could have handled that Tyson ever in his career.

you guys know nothing about boxing. Lewis dominated Tyson when they fought and it would of been the same thing if Tyson was in his prime. Tyson would not be able to get inside on Lewis. Lewis can take a punch, he got caught twice but that does not mean he can't take a punch

The Mike Tyson of his youth, when trained by Kevin Rooney, would have waxed Lennox' **** with a quickness. I don't mean the later Tyson, but IN HIS PRIME, its a quick fight.
