Yes, the experience of the questioner might have been the result of divine action.
Jehovah's Witnesses are certainly not strangers to these kinds of minor "miracles", but no human can be entirely certain that each experience like this results from the direct intervention of angels or holy spirit.
Clearly, Jehovah's Witness ministers work to put themselves into a unique position to be used by God and Christ. And yet, Christ commanded that true Christians would do so!
(Matthew 10:7,11,14) As you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of the heavens has drawn near.’ ...Into whatever city or village you enter, search out who in it is deserving... Wherever anyone does not take you in or listen to your words, on going out of that house or that city shake the dust off your feet.

It was definitely a sign, a very good sign that Jehovah God cares about you. Jehovah's Witnesses also knocked on my door and helped me. I didn't have to go to them for help they came right to my door step. This is clearly a sign of true Christianity in action. We were commanded to go and preach to people all over the world, Jesus said go. So we obey the commandment and go and preach the good news of God's Kingdom all over the world. There have been many experiences where someone was going to commit suicide and prayed if there really was a God please reveal yourself. Then that very day Jehovah's Witnesses knocked on their door. That's true love of neighbor, the second greatest commandment to love your neighbor as yourself. Please ask for a free home Bible study and I know for a fact that you will begin to feel love and happiness in your life once again. I will pray to Jehovah for you. May God be with you.

Take it as such and find your way again. Although I don't believe in much of the Jehovah's witnesses message, I do believe that they are good people in their faith. God needed to give you a wake up call and those JW's were handy! Before you join any Church please do research on your own! Form your own thoughts. Then find a church with the same mind set!
Life is worth living! You just lost faith. If you can't find it in your heart right now to believe in God, PLEASE believe in yourself! Treat yourself to something you really like to do! Do somethings to help people in need! Stop feeling sorry for yourself!

A sign from satan. Why did Christian Soldier's answer get delted? I've been following his answers and they're biblical. The JW's will try to indoctrinate you then the elders will take you behind close doors and sodomize you. Some of these links exposing jw beleifs are pretty informative. especially silentlambs.org If you end it know or as a JW you'll still go to hell. You need Jesus. www.wayofthemaster.com

Many will offer you ways to paper over the cracks, including through religion. But there is hope, there is a better way. If you will look beyond yourself and let go your attempts to control events and people.
Find the source of your healing and become new, not locked into misery.

Dear Friend, yes it was a coincidence. I actually used to be a Jehovah's Witness. For 25 years I was a member. The biggest crime as a Jehovah's Witness is to research it from sources other than from the material they print. The belief system was destroying my life as the doctrine was so unloving and I didn't want to believe that God only loved Jehovah's Witnesses and would kill all non Jehovah's Witnesses during Armageddon, which they have taught to always be around the corner since the late 1800's.
Before you study with them or step foot into their Kingdom Hall (church) it's imperative that you research them to see the many ways they have lied to people and destroyed families. Once you become a Jehovah's Witness and you try to leave, all the "friends" you have in that religion will shun you. All love and smiles they show are under the condition that you will become a Jehovah's Witness and will remain one. Any love or friendship that has conditions is not truly loving you as a person.
I will include some links as the source so that will hopefully help out. Ironically when I left the religion within a week a couple of Mormon's got my attention and I actually studied with them for awhile. I was at a similar point of wanting to end it all as my belief system was shattered and I didn't have many friends. I realize the Mormon's were just a coincidence as they are out preaching just like the Jehovah's Witnesses are preaching, and others.
Please understand, if you study with them they will appear very friendly and at first it will feel good, as if you've found "true friends" and the information they share may even sound good or reasonable, but in time when you fall under their doctrine and you must follow the laws of the religion it very well may destroy all the good feelings you have as you learn other doctrine that you are not taught at first.
Please, please, please, if you are thinking of hurting yourself, find a therapist, or licensed mental health worker who can talk to you and help. Seeking help does not mean you are weak, it takes strength and courage to look for it. This question alone shows me you are looking for answers and help, you just need to look in the right places. It wasn't until I started seeing a therapist that I finally began to heal myself and now I'm very happy, without Jehovah's Witnesses or other religion who's only goal is to control you while masking it with "God" and "friendly faces".
If you're young, try talking to a school councilor, or depending on your problem/situation there may be an anonymous youth group in your area you could look up on the web. Joining a discussion board/forum would be a good way as well. Though you may not feel like it, don't keep everything bottled up inside, find someone to talk to that you can trust in a safe environment. Someone who does not have a hidden agenda. Your health and well being is the most important part.
Again, as a former Jehovah's Witness spending many countless hours knocking on peoples doors, this is only a coincidence, but that doesn't mean you are not important, or life is meaningless. I've felt the pain of depression, but life does get better, find someone to talk to, join a group in person or online. What you are feeling is felt by so many others.
I'm happy you asked this question, you deserve to be happy and to believe in good things, please know there are countless others out there, who if they knew you, would rush to your aid. Don't give up! Take care, I wish you the best! :)

Believe it or not, what happened to you is not uncommon. Often Jehovah's Witnesses will come to a door where someone is in need of aid spiritually. Many times it is when we were just getting ready to quit in the ministry, but decided to take just one more door... The reason this happens is the Angels are involved in seeing to it that people learn about Jehovah and his purpose. The apostle John wrote: "I saw another angel flying in midheaven, and he had everlasting good news to declare as glad tidings to those who dwell on the earth, and to every nation and tribe and tongue and people, saying in a loud voice: 'Fear God and give him glory.'"—Revelation 14:6,7
I believe Jehovah God sees qualities in you that he finds desirable. The Bible says that Jehovah draws people to him. (John 6:44) That is why he sent the Angels to direct the Witnesses to your door, so you can learn more about him and the purpose he has for our Earth (John 17:3). As well as the happy future that awaits us.
I have included a link to an article that you might find encouraging.

You will not know for sure until you start a bible study with them to see if it is something you been needing or missing from for your life.
If it is not, then at least you made some new friends.
