So much to do, so much to enjoy. I am reading 6 books, simultaneaously all unrelated to each other and informative and non-fiction, offcourse. I am interested in everything. I would rather stay awake than go to sleep. Normally, I get maximum 6 hours of sleep, everyday, average being much less than that. I enjoy everything and have many hobbies and find time for everything. I hate to waste it by sleeping. I have dark rings under by eyes and the doc says I have fat around my liver.
Is this caused by sleeping too little or is my diet incorrect? Also how does one get rid of fat around the liver?

Does anyone else also feel there is so much to enjoy and do in this limitted lifetime we have, that we should enjoy it as much as possible?

Are there side effect to sleeping less than normal. I drink more than 10 cups of rooibos (red bush) tea without milk, everyday and am 15kg over weight. Don't smoke, don't exercise, don't drink, don't consume dairy prod except for the occassional choc.

6 hours of sleep is usually enough for an adult. If you are a teen, you should try to get a little more than that. It sounds like your lifestyle is pretty unhealthy. The fat around your liver is most likely a result of your diet and lack of exercise.

It is great that you love life, so you should take measures to preserve it. You should consider taking an aerobics class, or at least go for a walk every day. Also, energy drinks are bad for you. You should replace them with drinking water. You can drink all the water you want, and it will actually make you feel healthier. You should also try eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, Even dairy products are good for you if you don't consume too many.

It's refreshing to hear someone say they enjoy life so much. However, you are doing your body a great disservice by depriving it of sleep. Sleep is essential for repair and maintenance of your body. Most folks feel they don't get enough sleep.

The dark rings under your eyes and the fatty liver may or may not be related to your self-imposed insomnia. Being overweight doesn't do anything positive for your health either, nor does the lack of exercise. I think you should get a complete checkup by your doctor and go on a healthier regimen. Otherwise, you are going to eventually shorten the wonderful life you are experiencing now. Get some Z's! Good luck!

Well, YOU were the one at the doctor's. Why didn't you just ask him? It seems your sleep deprivation is causing you not to be Johnny on the Spot! You say there is so much to do, yet you say you are overweight from doing little, except sitting around reading! And reading is ok, (but who remembers all that stuff, or in this credentials-crazy society is able to exploit it to one's advantage to utilize it constructively) after having wasted all that time reading it! Ok, it's good to know the capital of Zimbabwe, on the off chance that the trivia fairy is going to stop by and award you a shiny new zinc-filled American one-cent piece for knowing some such thing, but frankly, I'd rather sleep, and then awaken refreshed and able to go out into the world and actually do something than read wasted ink!
Get some sleep, get off your duff and go outside and really enjoy life! Lay off the caffeine! Yes, you are wasting your life, in my opinion.

Hmmm. Ask your doc about the fat around your liver..........no clue what that means! Dark rings under the eyes: eat more fresh fruit and veggies...this will also help to take care of your 15kg overweight. Get outside and take a walk every now and then - you'll be amazed what you find outside of the 6 books you're reading.

Yes, I can agree that life is a wondrous place, but sleep is another extra we are blessed with.

It's great that you love life, but you need to slow down a little and just chill. Relax and smell the roses. Your body needs sleep to recover itself from the stresses of the day. When you deprive your body of a good night's sleep, you're not functioning at 100% the next day. To get the most out of life, allow yourself a proper rest period of at least 7-8 hours. You will eventually feel the effects of sleep deprivation over time.

if you hate sleeping that much, then i would suggest adopting the Uberman Sleep schedule, let me just say that there isn't much research into it, and nobody knows if it's doing them damage... but it has been said by most people who participate in it that they generally feel way healthier after the training period. People who use the ubermann sleep schedule end up sleeping for around 2 to 3 hours a day, so more life for you! read about it here: http://www.kuro5hin.org/story/2002/4/15/103358/720

Wow...how refreshing to hear somebody who is enjoying life! I love life and love my life, but I also love the evenings when I can go to sleep. Six hours of sleep doesn't sound like it's probably enough, but you know your body and what it requires. I require about 9 hours or I begin to feel sick. My opinion is to do what your doctor tells you and enjoy life to the fullest. Live healthy and have fun!

Yes, hire someone to wake you up every time you begin falling asleep.

Under the terms of the Geneva convention this is a form of torture, but, in your case, a most useful accompaniment to large doses of Red Bull and Caffeine.

Hope it works!
