i got a dog from a rescue center a month ago and all they said is she's between 1 and 3 years old staffordshire bull terrier,
ive seen other staffordshire's in the street and on the web and allthough she has the same face/basic shape as them she is really skinny you can see her ribs bad and her legs dont look meaty enough to carry her, i have been feeding her raw black tripe and boiled white rice, she seems to eat as much as my friends fully grown labrador but doesent seem to be putting weight on in any of the places she needs it which are her legs chest and stomach(where her hair get thin on her underneath)
i have treated her for worms when i first got her which should rule that reason out,
any ideas what i should feed her or what types of exercise would benefit her i take her swimming quite regularly (once a week) which she really enjoys but what else could i do for her? any help greatly appreciated as when people see me walking her they look at me as though i dont feed her,

try pasta that often puts weight on also instead of black tripe try chicken.
As far as worming if you used an over teh conter they often don't work. i would suggest taking her to the vet teh weight on the legs could be she had been starved and lost muscle tone also they can do a stool sample and if she does have worms give you what is needed and the stuff at the vets is much better. Also the vet could give you much better recomondations after a checkup.

we over fed our dog and we can't get the weight off now! try two cups of Science Diet, it certainly fattened up our dog!
um....worms? My dog just walked around our neighorhood and he was fine, fat but fine! Good luck!

She will put on muscle mass with more exercise... there' a difference between fat and muscle .. you don't want a fat dog.

get her spayed if she isn't, it makes it easier for her to gain weight
