help me i dont know wat to do i have tried talking to him and everything give me some ideas to help him!

we have tried everything my mom has talked to him i have it works for a little while but then its to tempting for him what do i do!! or say to him

Tell your mom about Al-Anon and you could try Alateen. They help people who live with alcoholics deal with their situation. If it's really bad, your mom should think about leaving for everyone's sake. It sounds like he is not ready to admit he has a problem. It's a tough deal- stay strong!

You need to talk to some in confidence; try Kids Help Line 1800 551 800 or go to www.kidshelp.com.au. You can't help your dad if he doesn't acknowledge that he has a problem and nor is it your responsibility, it's his! Kids Help Line can probably put you in the right direction. If he is willing to call someone he can try Lifeline 131114. If he gets abusive when he is drunk then you definitely need to get out, you can also try contacting an agency like Good Shepherd Youth & Family Service who can help families in abusive or violent households. Who does your dad listen too? Do you know of a friend or family member that your dad respects and maybe can say what you have been trying to tell him? It sounds like from your dad's point of view, you are just a child and not someone he would listen to (although he should) you need someone older and wiser than yourself to step up and be the voice your dad will hear. Try Ala-teen or Al-anon for help and support if there is no one else, that what they are there for. Good Luck!

same here. my parents are divorced so i live with my mom cuz he drinks too much. i am always scared for me and my lil bro wenever he drives cuz i can tell wen he is sober or drunk and like i always pray whenever i am really scared bout it. u may or may not believe in God but i do and i pray to him wen i'm scared. also u may wanna talk to ur mom bout it. or if not ur mom an adult that u trust

Try talking to a teacher or an adult that you trust. They may be able to help you and your dad.
