R4805 which is the ACTUAL name for the restricted area. "Area 51" is a Bureau of Land Management Designation.
Basically, it's a test facility. In order to work there, one would have to have an Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) and in the grade they require. Finally, you would have to have a TS/SCI clearance, plus additional indoc's for the Special Access Programs being run up there.
They have all the normal personnel of a, small, AF base: security, telecommunications, logistics etc. Though due to the clearance and length of projects they work, it's mostly gov't civilians and contractors.
"Getting involved in TS stuff" depends on your AFSC: Intel, communicators, and planners usually have TS clearances. It also depends in what arena you are working in: Nukes, Spec Ops etc those jobs would require a TS for planning, and support.
The short answer is: you would have to have an AFSC, plus a grade, plus the career experience that would benefit the organization(s). And no, they don't give tours-not in that business. Finally, the 737s at McCarran also support Dept Of Energy, and other ranges in Nevada-not just Groom Lake.

The Broom Lake Ordanance Testing Range also know as Area 51 (a map reference) and as 'Dreamland' is a top secret testing facility operated by the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Navy with the majority of the facility's operations being performed by the U.S. Air Force.

If you really want to be stationed there you need to select a career field that supports the missions of that facility such as an ordnance handler or worker of some sort. Then of course you will require a 'Top Secret' security clearance.

I image that the vast majority of the personnel assigned there are career military, on their second or third enlistments. Even if you complete all these steps there is no guarantee you might be seldected for an assignment like this...

First I would think you need to have some talent to offer the military.
For now you should stick with learning the English language. (Pritty) (oficialy) (namly) (realy) (clechet)
You "really" should stay in school and learn to spell or at least learn to use spell-check.
You have the gaul to tell other people to not be stupid.

First you'd need the appropriate Government Clearance, secondly you'd need a legitimate reason to be there. The base at Groom Lake (Area 51) and others are not in the business of giving tours to curious visitors.

1. Score well on your ASVAB
2. Don't settle for any job that doesn't have "Analyst" in the title.

Enter the Military Intellegence field, get your TS clearance, and you'll be "in on" the REAL cool stuff. Whatever you think is going on at groom lake, isnt. Not that our government doesn't do super secret stuff, they just don't do it where everybody is looking for it. Get in on the ground floor of the Intel field, stick with it, and you'll see stuff that will blow your mind. You gotta work your way up to stuff, but MI is where it's at, and it's surprisingly easier to get into than you might think, just ask your recruiter.

There is an unmarked white airplane that leaves every day from the Las Vegas airport. It takes the workers to area 51. So you need to get on that plane somehow.

You have to be in the military. You have to be an expert on some new technology, like stealth fighters. Then you have to put in a few years of hard work, earn their trust, and get secret clearances.

I'm guessing the only way to do it is to be in the air force for a fairly long time. I don't think they would hire civilians.
