For 2 weeks I have been eating 1,500 -2,000 calories a day, and I gained about 3 pounds (before those 2 weeks, I ate less than 1,500 calories a day). Is it because my body isn't used to eating this much or is it because I have a slower metabolism? By the way, I'm 14 years old.

there are two possibilities - one - you have gained muscle or some water weight - 2 weeks is not enough to tell
second - if you have been eating very little before especially if for a long time you have slowed down your metabolism - to fix that - gain muscle because muscle is what needs extra calories
dont jump from under 1500cal/day to 2000cal/day wright a way - up them slowly by 50cal/day every week -e.g. this week eat 1550cal/day, next 1600cal/day etc till you get to 2000cal/day.

It could mean that you're still growing and the food doesn't have that much to do with it. You are only 14, so you should be able to eat more than 1500 cal. without gaining weight. Of course, it depends on your level of activity as well. At your age, your metabolism should be processing calories quickly. Don't obsess about your weight. It is normal to fluctuate within a few pounds daily.

Hi I was very much the same (minus the bulimia) I used to just eat 1 meal a day it tended to be late in the day too. I put on alot of weight, even with a fairly active job (no exercise mind you) it slows your metabolic rate right down and forces your body into starvation mode, try doing exercise as this will increase your appetite. Or chew gum, i heard that helps.

You are probably not doing enough activity for all the food you are eating or are not eating the right foods!! Eat healthy fruits, veggies and whole grains and cut out the junk food and fast food!!! Take a jog around your block for like 20-30 min 3-4 times a week or play a sport!! Good luck!!

♥Hope this helps!!♥

Your body might not have a lot of muscle in it, which burns up a lot of calories. It probably means you have a slower metabolism.

i'm 14 too and same thing with me. i can't eat more than 1,200 calories a day or i gain weight and it is becuause i slowed down my metabolism from eating that little.
exercising helps to speed up your metabolism though.

BEING JUST 14 YEARS OLD THERE ARE MANY CHANGES IN YOUR BODY. THIS IS NOT BECAUSE OF YOUR METABOLISM, BUT BECAUSE OF YOUR LIFESTYLE.
DO YOU GET EXERCISE OR JUST WALK UP AND DOWN THE FASHION RAMP?
