They need to see a doctor if they are having pain and warmness in their side. Typically if an appendix burst they'd be in severe pain, may have a slight fever, and may have a general ill feeling. However, there are exceptions to everything and the pain may be an indication that the appendix has not yet burst but is severely inflammed. Please convince your friend to go to the emergency room for help NOW!
Hope this helps. Good Luck to your friend! :-)

Hey nina,
you really need to get your friend a doctor a.s.a.p. Ruptured appendix can be very dangerous. The appendix will not have ruptured as yet because you friend would be in so much pain that they would not even be thinking about laughing. So dont worry too much but definately get to the dr's just in case it's better to be SAFE THAN SORRY (SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS THE KEYBOARD IS PLAYING UP) THEY MAY JUST HAVE A CONDITION CALLED RUMBLING APPENDIX WHICH CAUSES SYPTOMS SIMILAR TO YOUR FRIENDS BUT IT COULD ALSO BE SOMETHING NOT SO BAD WHICH IS A WATER INFECTION

fever, throwing up, can't stand up,(like keeling over in pain) does it feel better for him to lay down? he may want to go to the hospital because if his appendix has burst then he needs to get emergency surgury because if he lets the "poison stuff or w/e" from his appendix stay in there he could possibly die! i'm sure it hasn't burst yet but he should go to the hospital if he is in a lot of pain and can't stand up...ooo yeah and what side is it on...if it is his left side then its not his appendix!

Tell your friend to stand on her tiptoes for a second, then back down again quickly. If that causes severe pain in the area in question, it's her appendix and she needs to get to a hospital.

She would have a fever, vomiting, and unbearable pain. Your appendix isn't really in your side, its lower than your belly button. If it's her side, like right under her ribcage it could be her gallbladder. She should probably go see a doctor if it is that bad.

While laying on her back, gradually apply pressure with one finger, then rapidly remove finger. If pain worsens, could be appendix. Also if laying on back and raise knees relieves pain, then could be appendix.
