DP! NOT NEUTICLES! NUTRICAL! LOL
Nutrical is a high calorie, concentrated complete dog food paste that is used very successfully to maintain dogs with all types of weight gain or life sustenence issues. It is used for emaciated dogs, pregnant dogs, as a supplement to very active and working dogs, and to elderly dogs or dogs with medical issues that make them hard to keep in healthy weight. I have used it hundreds of times with a good result each time. As it is so highly concentrated, it is best to feed only a tiny amount at first, and work slowly up to a maintenence dose. It is earthworm brown, and loks just like one when it is squeezed out of the tube. But dogs usually love it, so even picky eaters can be convinced to eat it. There are variations of the brand, such as Nutrastat. They work equally well in most cases.
And I am glad you asked a good question. :-)

NUTRICAL is wonderful!! It can literally be a lifesaver to tiny pups. I always recommend it to my chihuahua puppy buyers because if a chi pup doesn't eat, even if it misses one meal, its sugar can drop too low, it can go into a seizure and die. 9 yr ago I did not know about NUTRICAL but I had a chi pup that wouldn't eat. She was about 6 mo old. For 5 days she wouldn't eat. I took her to the vet every day. He kept telling me she had a sore throat. That was all he would tell me. The 5th day he gave me a tube of NUTRICAL after giving her a bit before we left the office when he more or less told me she was dying. I stopped at Hardees on the way home. It was like 5 minutes from the vet's and that pup that would not eat for 5 days almost climbed out the window trying to get to my food. She was okay after that. I changed vet's too because if the vet knew about Nutrical, why did he wait until he thought she was dying before giving me some of it for her. Recently we had another pup that was having trouble with his sugar levels dropping. We would feed him canned dog food about 9:00 p.m. and by 5:00a.m. he would be limp. The Nutrical brought him around in seconds. We started feeding him canned food at 10:00 p.m. and giving him NUTRICAL and feeding him again at 4:00 a.m. and giving him NUTRICAL. In a week he was fine. This was after he was eating dog food too. He just could not regulate his sugar overnite. He has not had anymore problems. I always make sure there is a tube of NUTRICAL in my house now.
I want to add also that I prefer the NUTRICAL over honey or sugar or Karo Syrup because it has the vitamins and minerals they need also. Another important note is that toy puppies like chihuahuas and yorkies, the really tiny ones should have their puppy food out for them from morning to night so they can eat when they want to.

Anyone will have a "trigger" to eat by cycling blood sugar. So if you can give Nutrical or any other sugary substance into an animal to raise the blood sugar, then when the blood sugar drops the body responds with a hunger trigger. Nutrical also has some b12 in it to help trigger the response too. But the main idea is just to cycle the glucose level in the blood so the dog will want to eat. Syrup will work too.

Nutrical is a supplement to trigger the appetite in a dog that is 'off' his feed. Yes it works!

for the most part Nutrical is a vitamin for dogs and I use it when my chihuahuas are having sugar problems. I now know when to give before a seizure.

It's a food supplement. They use it a lot for small, high-energy puppies, like Yorkies. They can actually play themselves into a hypoglycemic state and die.
