I can not tell you how long it has been happening, but Jeff Burton's Nextel patch on his uniform is about as washed out as the 3M Performance 400 race at Michigan. All of the other drivers have a bright yellow and black Nextel patch on the right side of their chest. Burton's looks to be more grey and faded black, as if he washed it in bleach a few hundred times.
I noticed this probably around 6 races back, when the feud between Nextel and AT&T got interesting. I have never heard anyone ever mention it and Nextel has not made him change it.
Not that it really matters. I'm just wondering if anyone else was paying attention?

I'm sure that is a good reason for that. I for one hate the situation he is in. I do not like what NASCAR has become the past few years. They have sold out to big business are only making decisions based on money. Gone are the days you can pick your own sponsor. Now you have to pick from an approved list. Isn't this what happened prior to Indy splitting?

My guess is that teams have a choice of which Series badge they want to use on the uniforms. I know some drivers wear the gray vs the yellow.

Teams have a choice, Some are darker then others, mainly to "match" the car. I know a while back reed sorensons wasnt yellow his was all black.

When i see Jeff Burton i don't even notice his patches. I'm too busy looking at HIM!!! It doesn't matter to me what color his patches are, he still is one of the best Nascar drivers out there and one hell of a classy guy!!!!!!
