You can't fly any plane as an Airman. E1-E4 does nothing but pencil pushing. [ If you're just starting out, or thinking of starting, you've got a long way to go buddy. ]
And just to note, your pay is determined by your rank and length of service, not what kind of plane you fly.

You don't FLY an aircraft as a "Airman"... or any enlisted rank for that matter.
You CAN become a flight-crew member though: you will be paid as Congress has set for your rank, PLUS Flight-pay.
I was a Helicopter Crewman back in 1985-1999, and got an extra $50 a month ($75 when I made E-5, $100 for E-7). I also got $50 a month for being a Rescue Swimmer.
Math ? You should be good if you complete math courses up TO but not including Calculus.

The only enlisted crew member position on a C-17 is Loadmaster. Your pay is the same as any other airman, with the addition of Flight Pay. This is taxable bonus pay for hazardous volunteer duty, i.e. Flying.
You need to be able to pass a Class III flight physical, not as easy as you may think. Much more involved than and entry physical for the military.
Need to be very good at math, you will be figuring weight and balance, center of gravity computations for the aircraft. These need to be accurate for pilots to adjust pitch trim. Calculate floor loading, horizontal and vertical restraint for loads.

You can't be an Air Force pilot at the rank of Airman, and pay is determined by rank, not job.
