Well im of to Great Lakes RTC this week on thursday. Right now im an E-1, what i was wondering was is it possible to get advanced to E-2 while in Boot Camp? I was just checking out the pay for and E-1 and it is around $1,200 which kinda sucks but its still money. BUt anyways i was wondering if you can advance from E-1 to E-2 while at boot camp?

Yes there is a way,you will have to stand out above your fellow recruits. Try to become the aroc or rpoc. I cant remember what they stand for, its been awhile. but they are the recruits that lead the division. you will need to have the sharpest uniform and the shiniest boot and really know your stuff. The down side is you will always be in the spot light and catch the most beatings. but when we left they were both promoted one pay grade, along with a few rewards. good luck and remember mouth shut, eyes forward, ears open it will be over before you know it.

IS it POSSIBLE, yes. Are you entitled ? I don't know.
I went thru RTC in 1985, and graduated as an E-3 (Airman) because I had 3 years of college already.
Check with your Recruiter, and if there IS a program in existance, make sure you get it in your CONTRACT.

If you were an Eagle scout in the Boy Scouts, then you can get promoted in boot camp.

You are complaining about $1200. When I went to Navy Bootcamp, I made $50.

im not sure about USAF but USMC you can get rank from being guide or scribe which is the best recruit possible and for getting other people to enlist its called the refferal program

be the honor Grad. your RDCs can meritoriously promote up to ten percent of the ship to the next paygrade.
