A rock can be a deadly weapon.
Given today's climate along the border, is their any proof before the rock lands that it is a rock and not a grenade?
I wonder what would happen if a citizen started throwing rocks and hit a cop in the head while other cops were there? How gentle would they be if they felt that the rocks were endangering their lives; that is exactly how the Border Patrol should be allowed to respond.
Since they have no legal right to be here, and a rock is considered to be a lethal weapon, isn't their attacks and violence on our law enforcement officials reason to consider them enemies of the country and treat them as such?
If you want to dispute the rock being deadly, let any Junior High pitcher throw a ball at your head; after you wake up, imagine that it had been a grown man with a rock.

People who throw rocks at a person carrying a gun aren't the brightest people in the world. It's legally self defence, and the Mexican government has published that in the US , it is self defence to shoot a man that is throwing a rock. THey even told potential illegal immigrants that you can't even pick up a rock.
Thomas, drug traffickers use the same corridors as coyotes and sometimes they are one and the same. Border patrol should have real bullets and should not have to deal with tring to figure out which clip are real and which is not. Lessons from the British navy from having mixed Ammo for their Pre-dreadnaught warships shows it's not a good thing. Besides, a rock can really bring a man down. THere is a video of one floating her a couple of months ago.

It's beyond infuriating to me! Our Border Patrol officers can't exactly start throwing rocks back at them...that is ridiculous. They also can't pull a gun because that would be considered excessive use of force against that threat. Basically, they are forced to do not much of anything but stand there because if they do in fact shoot someone, as we have seen happen, they will probably end up in jail. Bush is such a winner.

I feel they have a right to protect themselves, and should. A rock can cause great damage depending on where one is hit. Perhaps one of the illegals getting shot will stop the others from throwing projectiles at those trying to protect our borders.

I think better tazers with longer range are the answers. I'd LOVE to see the videos. The tazer videos on cops keep me in stitches. More K-9 officers at the border might help too. The plus side is more entertainment value too.
Remember those poor border patrol agents who have just been sent to prison for shooting back at a drug dealer at the border and hitting him. He's also suing the government (the drug dealer). Talk about Mexican gall.
My dad (retired secret service) always said, if you are going to pull a gun on a perpetrator, it's better to kill them. They can't come back and sue.

If this really happens, the border patrol should get rubber bullets and fire back. That would be an appropriate response. Shooting to kill would not. Additionally, the Mexican government should be called in if there are any hot spots and informed that their citizens are attacking American citizens along the border. The Mexican government should be pressured to arrest these people for assault.

It is proven that Illegals are not the rock throwers. BP Agents do have the right for self defense, it is their training that has allowed them to restrain.
There have been cases where they have fired, one shot-one body (alive or dead), just never published due to the investigations that found no wrong doing.
The last incident was due to a cover up attempt.

I have no problem with border patrol agents shooting rock throwers in say the leg or arm. I bet they'd stop throwing the rocks then!

It's evil. I hate evil doers. It's an invasion. It's insurrection. Revolting revolution. Hateful. Criminal. Assault.
