Just when I think I have seen every ignorant answer that a fundie could possibly come up with, and then they come up with something that is even more absurd.

Thanks for the laughs ya'll.

I was a practicing psychologist before I retired. I believe that extremists of any religion or lack of are exhibiting a form of psychotic personality disorder. They are certainly not to be taken seriously.

OMG that is hysterical.... sad to think that anyone could be THAT ignorant to say that though....I sure hope that person "God is Love" is a MALE or else I guess when they get a tad older, they will find out what it's like to be a sinner---because ALL women go through MENOPAUSE...even those who have a hysterectomy go through some sort of menopause.... it may be a "curse" but it's NO SIN nor caused FROM a sin... geez.... somewhere down the line, some overly religious zealot will come up with "BREATHING IS A SIN... or a RESULT of one..".... the way it's going, EVERYTHING in life is a sin for some people. I guess I'm just one of the nasty little sinners, cause I've HAD menopause, I breathe,(for now)... and hey, I even still like sex too... OMG....

It's not only atheists. I have rarely seen such a farrago of arrogant ignorance, crazed assertion and muddled thinking accompanied by incoherence, appalling spelling and near absent grammar as I have on postings to creationist and fundamentalist websites. Some seem to think that Senator Obama is the Anti-Christ. To give you some idea, this is about the state of creationist argument. I have not covered more than a fraction of it. 1. A barrage of statements or questions jumping from one issue to another. Evolution of humans, age of the Universe, abiogenesis, radiometric dating and the supposed lack of intermediate "forms" will follow one another like machine gun bullets. Creationist leaders are well aware that any non - believer in their cults will not be an expert on all of these. The fact that the creationists are not either is of no relevance as the victim spends so much time explaining why the creationist is wrong about radiometric dating that they have no time to address the evolution of humans. This is a favourite tactic of Dr. Duane Gish and has been called the “Gish Gallop”. 2. Straw man arguments are frequently used. One is that evolution is always supposed to produce more advanced, complex or intelligent organisms. This is not true. Another conflates the theory of evolution with evolution itself. This is like conflating a theory of gravity with gravity itself. Many lay people don't spot this tactic. 3. Ad hominem argument. This may be summarised as "No reasonable / sane / moral / wise person can believe this." Someone admitting that they do believe is implicitly admitting that they are not reasonable / sane / moral / wise when it may not be the case. 4. Straightforward unsupported assertions which are often not true, for example the assertion that the decay of radioactive isotopes can be accelerated by a factor of a billion in laboratory experiments. This is no more than a lie. The other classic is the supposed lack of “transitional forms”. Again, a lie. There are so many “transitional forms” between mammals and reptiles that scientists have argued whether something is a “mammal-like reptile” or a “reptile-like mammal”. Other false assertions have been about the Paluxy footprints and the bombardier beetle. This is frequently combined with – 5. Repetition of the same discredited material. See the things mentioned in part 4. Most creationist leaders know that a new audience will not be aware that some or all of their assertions are incorrect. So they keep using them. 6. Quote mining. One of the best known is Darwin's question as to whether his theory could explain the development of the eye. This is usually quoted by creationists as meaning that Darwin did not believe his own theory. The next few pages of "The Origin of Species" is devoted to just how the eye might have evolved, the argument buttressed by examples from known organisms. 7. If the victim turns on the creationist and insists he stick to one point, asks awkward questions, calls an assertion false, exposes a straw man argument etc. they claim that behaviour is not that of a lady or gentleman, retreat into quoting the Bible, tears or in some cases threatened or actual personal violence. This sort of material and behavior is too often seen by atheists and non-creationist Christians. It's dishonest.

I thought it had to do with female mammals depleting their supply of eggs and thus having a shift in hormonal balance.

Hey, if those "early humans" lived thousands of years as it says in the Bible, did females have 10 times the number of eggs? If so, where did they put them?

Menopause, and related issues are strong evidence that God is male. I doubt if a female diety would create someone in their own image, with all those problems...

I'm a man, so don't blame me if I'm ignorant...
