Hong Kong is great! I visited it in June and I really had fun.

It has a Disneyland too but since the USA has lots of that (lol), here are some must-see places.

1. Giant Buddha on Lantau Island - It's located on top of Lantau Mountain. Climbing the stairs is not for the faint-hearted. Once on top you'll see a spectacular view of Hong Kong's lush greenery and surrounding islands.

2. The view of Hong Kong Island from Kowloon - This is the view that's always seen in Hong Kong tourist guides. There's a viewing deck from which you can witness the "Symphony of Lights" at 7 or 8 PM.

3. Peak Tram - If you ride it, it'll take you to Victoria Peak, where you can view the city's skyline. The most thrilling experience is seeing the buildings as if they were reclining 45 degrees (on your way up).

I don't want a really long answer so I'll stop here. Enjoy your stay there.

since you are staying 5 nights, this is what I would do in Hong Kong: 1st, relax a little on the first day in hotel. Find out what attractions are nearby, eat a nice meal, then go for a walk with a map off course. It is still very hot these days around 26-31 (degrees C) so wear something light since you will be doing a lot of walking. Do some shopping at the markets around Hong Kong...Stanley Market (little more expensive), Ladies Market (better price than Stanley), Fa Yuen Street Market, Sham Sui Po Market are both good in price (can bargain off course). As for sight seeing, lots of places to go as mentioned by the above person...The Peak, Ocean Park, Central District, Causeway Bay, Airport Terminal II, Lantau Island.

must dos:
go to mong kok and eat some smelly tofu
eat some egg tarts
go clubbing
go check out lady street and flower street but i think you might like flower street better.
take the taxi at least once.
take the mtr and use the octopus card.
take the ferry to hong kong/kowloon.
take the double decker bus and sit on the second level.
go to causeway bay for the expensive fashion or just look at it.
go to tai ping mountain and take the slow train up there.
and just hav fun!
ohh ya hint:
hong kong stores don't really open until like 10am and they close pretty late. So don't plan your day at 8 cuase nothing is open except for the offices.
And, don't plan your day all the way past mid night because the mtr closes at like 11 i think. (you migt want to double check.)
and its expensive when you to take the taxi. so make sure you come back home at a reasonable time.

What's with the crap answers above???
HK is an AWSOME city. i hate big busy places. But some how I'm totally in love with HK.
First thing, at the Airport buy an Octopus card. Put about 200$ HK on it. YOu can pay for almost evrything with that. Even a beer at 7-11 or a bigmac.
One place i usually end up going is the look out point onthe mountain. If you get a clear day or night the view is fantastic.
Another interesting place is Nathan road.
walking around downtown is nice too.
If you're looking for girly action, there are a lot of bars around downtown which are full of girls at nite. some of them will try to pull you in. I've peeked inside before, but never been brave enough to venture in. have fun

yeah, i agree with the an above user . . . you MUST buy an Octopus Card and put a considerable amount of money in it. this is your key to paying for everything, from bus tickets, to ferry fares, to things at the convenience store, food, etc.

places to visit include
1. the Peak . . . lots of things to do there
2. Ocean Park
3. Disneyland :)
4. Jumbo . . . it's the floating restaurant
5. Causeway Bay for shopping

Try authentic Chinese food, especially going to the Seafood restaurant in Saigon or Lei Yu Mun or Lama Island.
