You will need to call your dentist at his emergency number so he can phone you in a prescription for an antibiotic and pain medication.

You have developed an abscess due to the broken tooth.
There really isn't anything that you can do other than take Motrin or Advil 600-800 mg dose every six hours for the inflammation.

Call your dentist, he will get you on the antibiotics if you explain to him what you have to me here. He may appreciate the call, since he may, or may not, want to do the extraction due to this infection. Some dentist want patients to be on antibiotic therapy prior to extracting an abscessed tooth. Good luck with your treatment.

Additional information: Going to the ER will not accomplish much except getting you the needed medication, and another bill. Call your dentist, he will call in the medication and save you from having an extra bill.

Hi! I've been in dentistry for over 25 years and you have an exposed nerve. Until that is covered it will hurt terrible. You have only 2 choices, go to the ER and see if they can cover it with a sedative filling or give you a scrip for codeine.
The other thing is to get clove oil extract. Take a cotton ball and pull out a small piece and roll it in a ball. Put it in the clove oil, squeeze out most of it and place it directly on the tooth. Cover with a temp filling you can buy in the drug store and hope this works. If the nerve is infected, you will need antibiotics or your face will swell and the pain will get worse. Get help now. This will not get better without professional care or intervention. Percosette will help if you can take it until you can get it pulled. Most ER's will give you enough 4X a day until them. I feel so bad for you. M

At your age, those might not grow back if it falls out. That will really feel uncomfortable especially when you eat because the tooth is now loose and is painful. So, see that dentist immediately to have it checked and he will a find a way to help you. Maybe he will remove that loose teeth and replace it with denture. Because loose tooth can't be put back to place normally.

LISA,
IF YOU HAVE ADVIL (IBUPROFEN), TAKE 3-4 PILLS EVERY 4-6 HOURS. THIS WILL HELP TO DECREASE THE LEVEL OF PAIN.
OIL OF CLOVES PLACED ON A SMALL COTTON BALL AND PUT OVER THE TOOTH WILL PROVIDE IMMEDIATE RELIEF, BUT THIS IS NOT LONG LASTING.

Call your dentist to see if they can see you sooner or go to the ER, they can give you what you need for pain and/or infection if there is one until you see your dentist on tuesday.

i feel your pain theres really nothing you can do try putting ice on the gum above the tooth for a numbing effect.
