In 20 or 30 years do you think gays will have a higher or lower rate of divorce than straights? Do you think gays will have a higher or lower rate of child abuse than straights? Do you think gays will have a higher or lower rate of long term, happy and health marriages and families than straights?

I suspect that the percentages will be almost the same for gays and straights.

I agree with you; I think they will be the same. I mean, we're still comparing humans, it's not like we're taking a different species or something.

The only thing is that they, possibly may be lower because in straight relationships there are usually "male" traits that drive some women nuts, and vice versa for men. Well, if you have a gay/lesbian marriage you really can't have those

I think that for those places that have allowed this redefiniton, the rates are much higher already. Considering the nature of the Gay Culture, I would expect it to be much higher long term, unless it turns out only a small percentage actually participate, I mplying that they would likely be more serious about it.

Probably about the same...perhaps a slightly higher divorce rate given studies that suggest promiscuity is more prevalent in the gay community, but that's not necessarily accurate or a valid predictor of marital infidelity.

I think the divorce rate *may* be slightly higher, I think the abuse rates of children would be lower, and I think the long term marriages would be close to the same.

Your perspective is wrong. If gay marriage is federally legalized, the next step for the gays is to abolish traditional families and marriage. Christianity will be run underground and America will be faced with the judgment of God.
Whether the divorce rate is becomes irrelevant. America will cease to become the nation it was, and pure paper tiger that destroyed itself by its definition of morality.

America will become a hell on earth because of allowing the 2% of the population to have their way.
God will judge. Pray you don't find His wrath if this happens.

Percentages will be about the same. At the lowest level we are just talking about people. Just people. Not gay or straight or christian or bi, or atheist, Muslim, what ever. Just people.

I don't care what their divorce rate would be. They should have the same rights everyone else has, and that's all there is to it.

They are still just human with human emotions and human frailties. In 20yrs the stats will be equal. But hopefully in 20yrs they won't be in a separate column.

Lower, because no gay couples will decide to get married because of unplanned pregnancies.
