I bet most if not all of you unbelievers do not understand ancient Hebrew.

reason being.. The language is no longer in existence.
So you unbelievers are judging the bible based on what some unbeliever says. You are putting your trust into someone you've never met.

I think I would rather trust an elder of the church the Pope or a high priest rather than believe the 22 year old unbeliever that runs a website called "skepticsanointedbible" lmao!!!

come on.. let me see a show of hands. How many of you Religion and Spirituality unbelievers fully and completely understand the ancient Hebrew language?

Bible scholars and bible historians goto college for 4 to 6 years to study the Ancient Hebrew and Greek languages. Are you telling me they are wrong and a website is right on the money? lol!!!

Beware!! If you say you do.. You will be tested.

because they will look for whatever excuse they can possibly find to discredit the bible, and make themselves seem right, it's easier for them to continue living the way that they do. but the bible says that if you don't seek him and you have the chance, because he reveals himself in one way or another, then he will not know them when the time comes, no one is with excuse as to not knowing god, they just would rather not believe, it seems easier for them now, but they will regret it one day.

The purpose of the New Testament was to spread the Good News of the Kingdom of Heaven to all the nations (Matthew 24:14). Koine was the language of administration and commerce used in the Eastern Mediterranean widely distributed by Alexander the Great who had conquered Palestine in 332 BC. This Greek dialect flourished under the Roman Empire: all the educated persons in the ever-expanding Roman Empire were able to read it. Actually many Jews had lost their ability to speak Hebrew after almost two centuries under the Greek administration -- only religious leaders and scribes were still fluent in the sacred language. That's why the creation of the Septuagint was undertaken: because Jews could NOT read Hebrew anymore. The same phenomenon had happened during the eighth century BCE, when Aramaic became the lingua franca of the Near East. That's why a few portions of the Hebrew Bible were written in Aramaic.

You're right, I don't know Hebrew. Not even Greek, and only the smallest smatterings of Latin.

But what I do know is that there are contradictions that do not need an appeal to the original language. For example, Jesus says in Mark that all who are not with him are against him, and then in Matthew states that all who are not against him are for him. I found that quote all on my own when I was still a believer, years before I knew of the Skeptic's Annotated Bible.

Also, if we are to understand that the Bible is insufficient because it is not in the original Hebrew and Greek (though to be honest I bet more people understand Hebrew than the Koine in which the NT was written) then why do people still use it? If it is faulty in its translations then it is faulty in its translations, so it is not valid for use in religious matters.

In short, I've read the Bible all the way through several times and I have a good command of its errors without referring to the SAB. I do not take a website for its word without reason, whether that site is an atheist's site, a christian's site, or any other sort of site.

I bet you don't understand ancient Hebrew or Greek either. Why do you demand this knowledge of us if we don't even use your book, but you use it and can't read the translation you so laud? Why do you listen to what an elder says and be a sheep instead of thinking for yourself and reading the book with open eyes?

The Bible was written in many languages.. greek,aramic... so the point is you dont know those languages.... the versions of the Bible were translated from those languages.. all have the same context.. only some of you... insert words that didnt exist in that time..

So by your argument you are telling us that you know ancient hebrew and only read the original scrolls that were used to "make up" the bible, or you are telling us that you have met, gotten to know and implicitly trust every person who ever had a hand in translating the bible that you currently read.

& Darwinsfriend is right, your website is full of excuses and delusion rather than any apt explanation.

You tell us most scientists and other intellectuals, that would put your 4-6 years Bible scholars to shame, are wrong.

Hebrew language still exists. Ever been to Israel? And the Greek language New Testament is full of errors too. Ever read John 14:14?

This is a pathetic attempt to explain away contradictions in the Bible by attributing them to mistaken translations. They're there, regardless of what language you read the Bible in.

Anyway, just because a belief is logically consistent with itself doesn't mean that it's correct. All it means that it can't be conclusively disproven through logic by definition. (For example, If I created a religion about the Flying Spaghetti Monster that did not contradict itself, this is no positive proof that it is in fact true.)

I try to study the Bible right down to the roots for better understanding. I am surprised how many "Christians" manipulate the bible for their own use.
I have seen many nonbelievers with such a focus of nonbelief that attempting to prove the Bible;s validity falls on deaf eyes and blind eyes. They refuse to turn around, on the possibility that the Bible has merit.
First we got to get all Christians on the right track and carry a portion of God's glory, then we will be effective witnesses to the skeptics.

How can you say you understand anything in the bible if you do not understand the ancient Hebrew language?

I actually do know it, so I can verify the errors, thank you.

Can you read ancient hebrew?
Most atheists have read the bible themselves. If we can't trust the translated bible to be correct, then the whole thing is complete crap.
If I need a translator (i.e. a pastor or priest) to tell me what it REALLY means, then it was written incredibly badly.
What is your point here? You should meet some atheists in real life where an actual discussion can be had-you seem to have quite a few misconceptions about a number of things.
