I agree with you about the fear-mongering that comes from the Alarmist's propaganda.
But you are an example of one of the worst aspects of this man-made global warming "movement": their actions have been so over-the-top that they are turning off many to taking ANY environmental responsibility. The people they should be wanting to be reach the most are demonized. Just look at the negative responses so far. Look at the thumbs-down that Sara e got - and she advocates reduction of fossil fuels! I regularly get multiple thumbs down from the same crowd.
On the flipside of that coin, I would hope that you reconsider your environmental outlook. Even if you think of yourself as an independent individual, you will need to rethink the way you utilize resources: the more you "waste", the less you have. The less you have, the less you enjoy life. If you were to multiply your current attitude by the rest of the population, you would soon find very little in life to enjoy.
Don't get me wrong. I believe that your enjoyment of life is worth MORE than the resources you use - if you were not enjoying life, then you would be wasting resources altogether. The key to this is the same as it is in almost all things in life: finding balance. You can enjoy life AND live in a way that minimizes your negative impact on the environment WITHOUT believing the hype of global warming.

Maybe you are just being satirical - I don't think that anyone gets scared into recycling, if they share your purported attitudes then presumably they just hang out with other wasteful people who don't give a toss.
Anyway, we will not 'save the planet' by recycling, we need to do much bigger things (as well) - reducing what we consume is the first thing that we have to think of, as the average USA person is consuming loads more than an African or Asian, with Western Europe not looking too good either.
If you want to wallow in your ignorant arrogance by all means do so - greenies like me never bother with people like you as your selfishness would almost certainly permeate through your life making you the kind of person I avoid. Unless of course, you are just trying to wind people up.

I have a question for you, in about 30 years when the effects of climate change have reached the point where they can't be reversed (and while you maybe nearing the end of your life) and your children will have to live in a dying world due to people like you. Due to people like you who are so ignorant to open your eyes and look around at a dying world pleading for us TO CHANGE OUR WAYS.
My question is when your children and/or grandchildren ask you, "What were you thinking? Why didn't you do anything?"
