You only have one piece of paper (11 inches by 8 1/2 inches). No tape, staples, etc. It has to support itself. You can't support it on it ends (e.g. Have it tied to bigger pieces of paper.

Accordian-fold the paper several times, then stand it so the bends are vertical & it will bear a surprising amount of weight.

As cool_clearwater said, corrugate it by folding it longitudinally many times, and then opening it up. This will stiffen it so it will support it's own weight.

Here's how I made one... held 4 pens/pencils (thats how many I had so it could hold more)...
