Does anybody know if this is a reliable charity? If not, do you have any other suggestions as to similiar charities?

I disagree with the first answer on one level but he is right on one thing....19% of your $$$ goes for administrative costs such as advertising. But according to United Way, any charity that charges more than 10% or more for administrative costs is not a highly recommended charity.....now it may still be a charity that you want to donate to and one that United Way represents but they do caution you to be aware of charities that have HIGH administrative overheads.

I personally will not donate to a charity that has a higher than 10% administrative cost....so I would recommend you don't donate to them. You might go to the "One Campaign" site and check out their partner organizations and see if one of them might fit your needs. "Bread for the World" looks good and their management costs ran about 4.1% in 2006 and fundraising only about 13.6% for the same year, which isn't too bad.....but you can check them out yourself.

It's a very good one. Only 19% of the money they receive goes to administration costs. (30% is concidered good) The rest goes to run orphanages and especially day cares for children in 3rd world countries.
