Eating 500 calories a day is unhealthy, VERY unhealthy. Besides, it will actually slow your metabolism down because your body will think it's starving, so after the first few days you wouldn't lose anything, and would just get sick.

If you limit your diet to 1500 calories a day and do aerobic exercises for at least twenty minutes a day, then it would be a healthy way to loose weight and most people who do that diet typically loose 2-3 pounds a week. At 2 pounds a week for eight weeks, you would meet your goal. It'll take a little extra dedication that way, but it'll be much easier than starving yourself and A LOT healthier. You would also feel a lot better.

Oh and don't drink soft drinks for two months, and drink a lot of water. This will speed up results, and give you more energy.

Good luck. Be healthy.

so 500 calories a day is obviously not enough, but yah, if u didnt get in sick, in 2 months u'd probably lose more weight and could probably drop 15 pounds. But also, once u starting eating again after you lose the weight u want 2, youll just gained it all back, so its not really smart. Try eating 1200-1500 calories a day, and ecxersizing! It will make u feel better, and it healthy!

Frank is right. Exercise is much more important than calorie count. Eat more protein and do at least an hour of steady exercise (not just walking around) per day. One other thing. Be extra vigilant about sugar. Sugar is the enemy and it is in most prepared foods. Read all labels carefully. Sugar makes you crave sugar. Once you get it out of your diet, you will find maintenance much easier. Also, don't hide calories in your meals in the form of melted cheese or cream sauces. I do not think scalloped potatoes are a wise choice here, particularly if they came prepared. Eat a plain cooked potato with a little salt and olive oil.

Hi,

I've tried so many different diets in the last 10 years that I can say now, they don't work!
A few months ago, I came across a great product for weight loss and like many others I was skeptical about it. But I really wanted to lose weight and I tried it. The results were excellent and I lost 20 pounds in 2 months. I felt fantastic and I dropped another 5 pounds safely. That's why I recommend you check this product at http://www.fit-thin.info where they have a free trial and you only pay 5.49$ shipping and handling.
Good luck!

you will cause harm to your growing body. These years are especially important for you to get all the nutrition, vitamins, proteins, carbs and fat as well which a 500 calorie diet cant provide. I say dont worry about your calorie intake so much. Since you are growing, if you want to get more fit, just take part in sports, be active, excercise, and dont laze around on the couch all day.

I agree with wendy. I would even go so far as to say you need between 1500 to 2000 calories a day....

if you only limit yourself to 500 calories each day, you will get sick and possibly die. you need to eat at least 1000 calories a day to stay alive and more to stay healthy.

at your age you shouldn't be dieting at all.. but i'm 18 and i weigh the same as you and my trainer said the limit for decreased caloric intake for me is 1200... and thats for drastic weight loss... for you i would say limit yourself to 1500 cals a day. 500 just isnt healthy at all.
