whether high energy crowd or candle lit monotony, sugestability is invoked in most religious circumstance.
He converts a room of people, instantly. Here he debuncs both major religion, and spiritualistic methods, without attacking religion.
People are predictable, sugestable and incredibly easy to influence.

Just be aware of the methods that can be used against you, alright?

"People are predictable, sugestable and incredibly easy to influence."
Seems this would include atheists as well. Makes one wonder.

"whether high energy crowd or candle lit monotony, sugestability is invoked in most religious circumstance."
First, "most" is the operative word here. Most of the services I've been to haven't had either and I would think that the former ("high energy crowd") would be found mostly in Pentecostal churches and the latter in more traditional churches such as Orthodox and Roman Catholic. Second, as far as I could tell, he used neither.

"He converts a room of people, instantly."
I thought a majority (or at least a large number) of them got up and left.

"Here he debuncs both major religion, and spiritualistic methods...."
Debunks religion? Hardly. At most, he shows that some people might accept religion due to a susceptibility to suggestion. He has yet to show how representative his sample is.of Christians in general (much less of "major religion").

Honestly, it's not so much the words that hurt. It is the person who says them. For instance, if my man were to say something negative about me - this would hurt. Not the words, because I know they are not true but just that he would view me in such a way. Such as saying I am a wh*re.. Or insulting my intelligence.

Conversion has nothing to do with a touch of someone's hand. It has everything to do with believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. That He came to earth to save you from your sins. That He died, rose again and gave you eternal life. Derren Brown wasn't the reason for my conversion. Jesus Christ was.

How ominous the video made it sound, for a man who is a Christian to establish relationships with people! God forbid we should do that! God forbid we should be Christians and feed people, donate medical supplies, offer aid and assistance, or sacrifice our time for others! People would just say we're doing it not because we love people, but because we want to convert them. Cynical to the extreme, but par for the course.

So, what's the question? I've heard of Derren Brown. He is quite good at what he does, but it is a parlor trick and nothing more.
