I say that if you think it's hype or fake, come to California and spend a day walking out on our streets with only a cup of water. Then tell me it's nonexistent.

My spanish teacher had to crank up the ac to the max and break out 3 fans just to make things bearable. It still wasn't cool.

And it's hotter here now in fall than it was in the summer.

See, while Cali's getting nothing but sunshine for the last few years, Britian's got nothing but rain.

The true def of global warming is a swing in climate. So it could go either way. That's why scientists still think that England's going to be the area that experiences the next ice age.

Seems like it rains everywhere but here.

Kagnomi, you said "it's hotter here now in fall than it was in the summer." Wow! Global warming must be so bad in California that it is actually changing the seasons. Where I live, it will still be summer for another 2-1/2 weeks. If someone doesn't understand something as basic as the change of the seasons (which happen the same time every year) how could they understand something as complex as "global warming?"

Most people don't deny that the globe is warming, but they are skeptical that mankind is the driving force behind that warming. There is too much evidence that an increase in solar output is directly responsible for most of the warming that the earth has experienced over the last century. The earth has recently come out of a cool period known as the little ice age that lasted for about 500 years (from 1350-1850.) Glacial advances began in the Northern Hemisphere about 150 years before the generally agreed upon date of the start of the Little Ice Age. This cooling period was marked by 5 distinct periods of reduced solar output: the Wolf Minimum 1280-1350; the Sporer Minimum 1420-1570, the Maunder Minimum 1645-1715, and the Dalton Minimum 1790-1820. Since the last minimum, the sun's output has increased substantially in direct correlation with the increase in earth's temperatures. Studies show that the solar increase is directly responsible for 80% of the warming over the last century. Mankind is having very little affect on global warming.

Yes, this can be a thoroughly political motion. You will uncover the ones at the left and proper accepting AGW as a most probably likelihood. Those who say it's all rip-off handiest come from the proper. Edit: Also I do have a tendency to be a skeptic in terms of new clinical theories. I suppose darkish topic is utterly bogus. If you uncover you observations don't fit your calculations, you don't invoke a brand new type of topic. You determine your observations and/or calculations once more. I do not care a lot for string concept both, on the grounds that that is no experimental proof to again it up. Edit: Two of Jimmmbo's hyperlinks are truthfully peer reviewed and neither forged doubt on MGW, they just carry disorders with probably the most parameters positioned into the local weather units. These disorders are good recognized and no longer unnoticed.

You won't be able to see the effects of global warming quite like that. It might contribute to the effects that you have witnessed, but your hypothesis is slightly flawed... The effects of global warming will not become apparent for another 10 to 50 years which makes it somewhat of a bigger problem.

Global warming is a much, much larger problem than most people think. This is due to global dimming. Tiny droplets of carbon hide inside water droplets in clouds, reflecting the sun's light. If we stop burning fuels like they grow on trees (which I suppose technically they once did...) then global dimming will go so we will be hit hard in the face with global warming. So there's not much we can do about it for now and because of global dimming, people cannot see its effects in full so may WANT to think that its not such a problem.

Another reason could be that the Earth has warmed up in the past. It could be just a natural warming (like one that melted an ice age) although it has warmed up a bit faster than before so there is a strong possibility that this theory is incorrect.

Although there are many other reasons, the final one that I am going to offer is about religious reasons. People who believe that the world was created by a God of some sort or that a God maintains the Earth will not like to think that S/He is not doing a very good job!

Again, people like George Bush are religious and so will not accept this so will not volunteer the USA to take action as a whole although most individual states are now doing something. Thank goodness.

I hope this was of some help to you.

This is just my opinion, but i think most people I have talked about global warming with who have a background in some type of science focused education have agreed with me. Most people agree that global warming is real. The big argument lies in the question is it being caused or accelerated by human influences. Science can prove for a fact that the climate of the Earth has gone through cycles of warming and cooling trends, long before the Industrial Revolution, and in fact over the course of millions of years. Look at the evidence of past ice ages, global and isolated, following by warming trends after. An example of green house pollutants being added to the atmosphere that are not man-made are volcanic eruptions. It is a scientific fact that one medium sized volcanic eruption ejects as much green house pollutants as humans create in about a years time. Now my opinion is that humans have maybe sped up the cycle, but these cycles have existed long before humans, and will continue regardless of what we do to try and stop it. I think it has been blown up so much in the past few years is because it has been a political hot bed and a band wagon for politicans and alarmists to now present their personal agenda. Anytime something can be used as a scare tactic, it is!

I don't doubt Global Warming, I only doubt that we "Humans" are the main or only cause of it. Some scientists believe that Global Warming is naturally caused and others believe in Man Made Global Warming.

I also live in California and yes it is hot out, but if I remember correctly it was like this last year and the year before. But its always really hot in August and sometimes yes there is a heat wave in September and October as it happened a few years back and including this Septembers heat wave, which actually started in late August.

And who actually goes out on our streets with only one cup of water as you suggest. They always have a bottle of water with them...not a cup of water.

Anyway Stay cool...

Why are people still in denial about Global Warming?
One person's opinion, a short answer.
The people in denial let someone else do their research, and nod with the conclusions of well paid talk radio hosts, (entertainment professionals). Because Global Warming is bad news for corporations, the corporate state, and the investments of the establishment; people who expect to live under the flag of the invasive states of America.
We (our military and politicians) make war as a matter of corporate policy, in other countries. Most deny that too.

Since global warming scientist tell us that the Earth has only heated up 1 deg over the last 100 years, any warmth you feel is weather, not climate.

I'll bet it cools off in a month. I guess you'll think global warming is fixed by then.

The proof you offer is meaningless. A single point in time proves nothing.

Look, everyone knows the earth is warming, and has been since the last ICE AGE. What people don't agree on is whether the latest trends are manmade or natural.

The planet is currently on a warming trend, but the world has been warmer in the past. how else could there have been cities hundreds of years ago in greenland that are now under a half mile thickice sheet. The big question is the human role in global warming. there is no concensus and no difinitive proof. Al Gore had to actually come out and say that he had to exaggerate his claims tobetter prove his point. (if you lied, how can we believe any of it). in fact, CO2 plays only a mild role in warming, if any. new data shows that warming might cause elevated CO2, not elevated CO2 causes warming

Mostly because people like you present local temperature swings as evidence. It's GLOBAL warming, not LOCAL warming. A local warm temperature swing in California has nothing to do with it. You are just giving the deniers the bad data they need to fight against the theory of global warming. Why don't you spend a little time researching the subject?
