What can I or we do to fix this. We pay taxes to give Politicians large raises and to send Money to other countries that don't give a damn about us.

If you don't think the system is fair, write your political representatives and tell them how the system should be changed. It is full of social engineering provisions that someone likes and others don't.

How the government spends tax money and how it collects it are two totally different issues. My idea of worthwhile program may be your waste and vice versa.

If you don't think it's fair, try moving to Europe! Taxes are much higher there. Income tax rates run as high as 75% (ours cap out at 35%) and gasoline taxes are around $4.00 per gallon (ours are generally less than 50¢ per gallon) and sales taxes as high as 23% (while most of ours are less than 10%).

The US actually has some of the lowest taxes in the industrialized world. Given the state of the Federal budget under the gross mis-management of the current administration, taxes are actually TOO LOW to be healthy. No other president in history cut taxes during wartime. Where the idiot in the White House gets the idea that it was a good idea to do so escapes me. Thank God he'll be leaving in less than 507 days.

I hope this answers your question:
India is developing mainly because the government of India is forcing its people to pay taxes and is plugging loop holes to control tax evasion.
Now the government has more money to develop the infrastructure: road network, transport system, drinking water, electricity, police, hospitals, education, sanitation, safety and security.
