i really need glasses, my prescription went up a lot.
we went to a place today, and i really liked these frames.
http://eyeglasses.go-optic.com/store/Eyeglasses/details.asp?id=9496 at that place, it cost 210 dollars. at that, my dad went crazy. he started yelling at me in the store, and compared the price to glasses in taiwan, which are about 120 dollars. he asked me why i didnt get glasses in taiwan, and i said that all their styles are ugly, and i really really liked the said frames. besides, i went to a place in taiwan, and i could tell the material was really cheap. i was really embarrassed, because people were staring at me. now my parents want me to get eyeglasses from costo. i didnt see any good frames, their kids section is too small, and their adults section is too big. i really want the coach frames, what can i do to convince my dad?

I don`t know how old you are but can you earn your own money? If not than tell him you will do chores, save from your allowance so he will buy them for you. If that doesn`t work just get the cheap ones and than save for the ones that you want to get. I am not trying to be mean but they are prescription glasses why do they need to be Coach? I`m sorry, I couldn`t help you more.

P.S And your dad is not being mean, there are bills that need to be paid. You know that right?!!??!

Well I have an idea tell him you will pay half of the glasses if he pays half. If you don't got the money then get a part time job and work for it. You can also help clean the house for money. And instead of getting an allowence let him keep the money until those glasses are paid.

I'm sorry hun, but you won't be able to... he is buying them, and if he doesn't feel you need pricey frames then he won't buy them. I can see his point, as long as you can see, then you don't need to be fashionable .... but i can see your point as well, I wouldn't want to go through school wearing glasses that were ugly and that didn't look good on me... the only thing i can suggest for you is either tell him you will pay for them yourself, by doing extra things around the house for him to gain allowance, and then go back and buy them, or.. tell him if he buys them for you now, then you will pay off your debt by doing extra chores around the house, etc.

$210 for frames is a bit much, especially if you
look at what you get, it's a racket.

Maybe shopping around would help.
