How do you know which religion you are, or what belief system you belong to?

Ok, what I should have added was what made you decide what religion you are, not quotes from what you follow.

Sorry, I can't help you as I don't follow any religious teachings. I was lucky enough to have not been completely indoctrinated as a child, therefore it was much easier to make up my mind.

And as you can see from the other answers (so far), you will not get an answer, just rantings about which religion they follow, not how they decided to follow that particular one. Maybe they have no answer. That's most likely what they've always done and were never able to decide.

The determining factor that I saw in the Jehovah Witness religion was that whatever was said or taught could be found in the bible.

The religion does not adhere too any man-made traditions or holidays
.
The religion tries , as much as possible, to imitate 1st century Christians

They adhere to the bible as their authority

Their teachings are not shrouded in some sort of mystery

The belief that all the problems of mankind will be solved with the coming of God's kingdom - which Jesus told us to pray for in 'the Lord's prayer'

For the above stated reasons, I became a Witness in 1995

After looking at and/or learning about the myriad methods of finding God, I found that my faith and belief in Him and Jesus was sufficient enough, so there fore I suppose I am, for lack of a better definition, a Pagan Christian, or Christian Pagan if that suits you better. I found that Catholics were too stiff-necked and hypocritical, not just of other 'religions', but those in the same church! Mormons go out of their way to place their women in secondary stature, so they were out. Hebrews don't believe in Christ as a savior, and Scientology is just too much of a joke -to me- to be considered a valid and viable way to the Godhead. Buddhism, well, it's close, but too rigid in many ways, and any offshoots or schisms of any 'modern' organized religion still tastes of the bitter seed that spawned the 'new' way.
So go with your heart, my friend, and you'll find spiritual peace.
Good Luck!

I follow the eample of the people of Berea.

Acts 17:10 The brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived they went into the Jewish synagogue. 11 Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.

I'm a Christian because God has given me the gift of faith and his Holy Spirit and I follow the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus is the only way of salvation because He is the only One who can pay our sin penalty (Romans 6:23). No other religion teaches the depth or seriousness of sin and its consequences. No other religion offers the infinite payment of sin that only Jesus Christ could provide. No other “religious founder” was God become man (John 1:1,14) – the only way an infinite debt could be paid. Jesus had to be God so that He could pay our debt. Jesus had to be man so He could die. Salvation is available only through faith in Jesus Christ! “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

I didn't have any religion forced upon me, so I was free to follow my heart and my feelings regarding what is out there. Unfortunately most people are brainwashed into believing whatever their parents believe in, without having choices.
