Matter of definition. One can be enlightened but not yet "saved." You must pass through enlightenment to be saved if that's what you wish to be.

Salvation is believing in Jesus Christ. The Bible says that is the only way to Heaven. The Holy Bible says that if we confess our sins, admit that we are a sinner in need of a Saviour, and believe that Jesus Christ was the son of God and came down to earth and died on a cross as a perfect sacrifice for our sins, rose from the grave the third day forever covering our sins with his precious blood, If we believe this we can ask him to come into our heart and save us and make us a child of his. We must Pray this with a sincere heart as God knows what you are really feeling and he knows whether you are serious or not. If you are you can be born again right now by simply saying the Prayer and believing in Jesus Christ.

What do you believe salvation and or enlightenment to be? How does one achieve them?
Salvation occurs when the Holy Spirit lets the light of God's truth about a person's need for a Savior and what Jesus did for them on the cross shine into their heart. Enlightenment is the illumination of God's truth that accompanies salvation.
2 Corinthians 4:3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing. 4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
5 For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake. 6 For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Salvation: state of being saved, literally. Attained through faith and purity, and usually suggests that one will be granted an afterlife that rewards one for a pure life
Enlightenment: state of awareness of the world and existence, thought to be the pinnacle of spiritual wisdom. Attained over the course of many lifetimes, it is a state in which purity of thought and deed are merely consequences of the higher level of awareness. Suggests that the enlightened's death will be "rewarded" with Nirvana, or nothingness (freedom from rebirth).

In order to be saved, one must simply place his faith entirely in the finished work of Christ on the cross. If someone believes that Christ died in his own place and paid the price of his own sins, and rose again, then that person is saved. There is nothing that anyone can do to earn salvation. Nobody can be “good enough” to please God on his or her own, because all of us are sinners (Isaiah 64:6-7, Isaiah 53:6). Secondly, there is nothing more to be done, because Christ has done all the work! When He was on the cross, Jesus said, “It is finished” (John 19:30).

Salvation is when you repent and ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins. I know nothing about what enlightenment is.

When our spirit left heaven that part of us that knew God went to sleep. When we become aware of The Spirit of God within us that part of us awakens to make us aware of the truth. This truth always enables us to love God and others as ourselves. Without this truth we are only able to fumble around and try to love by trial and error and our conflict of interest gets in our way.
