I recently switched from Advil to a generic asprin to save some money. I have a bad back, and the doc's won't give me pain meds mainly cause they said they don't want me to get addicted to them, and that I don't need it. HA! What do they know? They are only doctors! LOL (hence my sarcasim?). Anyway, my question pertains to a pain releiver with Actaminophen in it. For some reason, since I switched, my tummy has been bothering me a lot lately! Why would a generic asprin upset my tummy, and advil not upset my tummy?? Thanks for the answer!

generic aspirin is different than advil. two DIFFERENT drugs
aspirin is known to cause stomach upset. if you want there is a generic advil available,,,you want generic ibuprofen. acetaminophen is generic tylenol. if you prefer to use aspirin get a buffered one as it is gentlier on the stomach. (i use aspirin for my arthritis as i think it works better). you can also double up on tylenol and advil,,,take one than 2 hours later take the other and so on. two different drugs do two different things and can help knock it out faster

I will attempt the update. If you show no physical evidence of

historical evidence to support schedules of healing. When a

is a secondary response designed by blessing of old tradition.

Stomach upset is one of the side effects of aspirin and other cycloxygenase inhibitors such as Motrin and Aleve. The active ingredient in Advil is Ibuprofen, which is available as a generic drug in supermarkets and pharmacies. If Advil works for you without causing stomach upset then I would suggest that you find a generic Ibuporfen instead of asprin

see if your doctor will give you IBphophine instead or switch back to Advil.I had back pain for 10 yrs . i know what its like, your probably where i was 10 yrs ago.I eventually endidnd up taking pain meds for 2 1/2 yrs every day.just so i could drag my butt into work.eventually i ened up doing surgery.the Actaminophen makes your stomach upset so you dont take too much.it actually eats away at your stomach espically if you mix it with alchol.i think the best advise i can give you is do Physical Therapy, here is a great book .http://www.amazon.com/Treat-Your-Back-Robin-McKenzie/dp/0958269238/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-8163448-7733438?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1188666272&sr=1-1
and get advil.there is a good chance you will end up with DDD.and the info you get out of this book will help you over the long haul.I got it too late.

I think advil is a tylenol or acetminophen and if you are taking aspirin well aspirin is a little harsher.....just make sure you eat a little something before you take the pills or drink some milk
