How do I connect my computer to my tv so that I can watch things on my computer on my tv?

Well, if you're willing to buy a TiVo (Series 2), they support displaying various formats of video on the TV. You need a network connection between the TiVo and your PC, but it can be WiFi or wired. I'm real happy with TiVo, but it IS a subscription service at $13/month.

Another option is one of the media extenders produced by companies like Netgear and Linksys.

Slingmedia is also supposed to be coming up with a device next month tentatively called the SlingCatcher.

Again and again and again... PC's and TV's are not compatible. You need a PC-TV converter to properly connect the two. Several companies make them and typically they're around $100 for converters to 480i (standard TV), and $200 for converters to 1080i. One of the easy ones to remember is PC2TV.

new cmptrs have the S- connector plug back there, easy to plug into like TVs.

else, RCA connectors might work.
