Bula'ai, I must disagree. I answer only to God. There is no third party. Jesus Christ is my advocate with the Father, not an Earthly minister.

I understand ur question, I don't undarstand why others dont. I'm not sure I would have went that way. I find it more dificult to believe in the science version of the formation of the earth. By their own adminision cosmologists can not for the life of them using current mathmatical formulas account for the formation of the last two planets of our solar system. If the theory of cosmology is correct but has a flaw in it dose that not make it suspect.
Based on logic I wonder why so many cosmologists cling to the ideas of "50 million years ago" "blank happened" given the fact that radio carbon dating is not that accurate a science it almost borders on a "faith belief system" and yet we as Christians are looked down upon for believing that God could speak our world into existance 10 to 12K years ago.
My point is this If God was not able to do these marvelous, and wonderous things the Bible shows and tells us He did, then I think He would not be a God I would want to serve. I want an all powerful, all knowing, all present God in my life. I only want one, I don't neeed any more. I want a God that can redeem my weaknesses to purity, and I want a God that Is willing and ready to love me as much as anyone else, regardless of who or what I am.
As for your question I believe that every one has this desire in their heart of hearts, and yet some are just stubbnorn. They have to be shown... to have tangeble facts....they cannot be satisfied with the notion that "Faith the substance of things unseen" as being of God, but will blindly follow science in its fanciful and unproveable, millions and billions of years theories.... finding no pleasure in serving a God that gives a reward later in an existance other that this physical one we live in now.
Science will never explain all the complexities of God, and only a faith in God can sasiate the hunger we have to know that the things we can not explain are ok because God has it all under control and in His plan. What a comfort.
I'm sorry that some read your question my brother and thout less of you for asking it. I know you were trying to communicate the Holy Spirit to the unbelievers of this community. You keep it up and God bless as you, as you have always been an uplift to me in my walk. I personally look forward to our times of fellowship in this world (on line or in person if God wills) or the next (which will surely come to pass amen and glory to the Lord)

I believe people will not change their beliefs. The existence of God or Satan doesn't really matter. In fact, both of them don't exist. What really matter is to believe in yourself. The idea of God and Devil is the same as good and evil which also same idea as heaven and hell. They are all human creations. We created some kind of Divine thing that has more power than us so that we still have something to look up to. Hope that if we follow His rule, we will not be punished or to be sent to hell. In reality, we have rules and agreements which are enforced by law enforcements so that nobody violates other people freedom. All in all, God, Satan, Heaven, and Hell don't exist. Thousand and thousand years, nobody able to prove them.

One word: Augustine. Segueing off Plato, Augustine came up with the Logos concept. And the idea of Original Sin. But that's a different story.

Because many people don't need an idea to make logical sense or be supported by evidence to believe in it. Most people are just looking to believe in what makes them feel good. Popularity has no real bearing on whether or not an idea is actually correct.

The key word is believe. Belief comes from what one preceives to be true. The truth comes from what one believes its a circle. What is the truth well that depends on what you were taught either by family or society. I was taught the word of God, I preceived it to be true...therefore I believe in his word.

In my experience, because people are taught that this is true, and not encouraged to question that basic foundation. Every bible study I have ever seen has started with the assumption that the bible is true.

Because the people that know the truth and believe in His existance also believe in His word. The ones who don't...don't.

Honestly, I don't know why people believe the Bible. But the fact many people believe it to be true doesn't make it so. People throughout history have believed many things we now know to be false.

if McDonald's isn't good nutritious food how come so many people eat it. do you see that fallacy of that logic, truth ain't democratic. most people used to believe that world was flat, it never was no matter how hard, deeply and sincerely they believed it.
